I have PCOS, and was wondering if anybody else out there has PCOS and has the Mirena. How's it going? Should I consider it?

What can I do next?

I have PCOS and had the Mirena put in at 6 weeks postpartum in August. I love it! I'm breastfeeding so I haven't had a period on it except minor spotting. It's nice having the peace of mind to not have to worry about birth control every day.

I got mine 6/30/08 I had spotting for about six months on and off and a little cramping. Then six months later I had a very lite two day cycle. I have PCOS and endometriosis and this is a blessing! The cooper IUD was bad news I had it removed within four months. I love my Mirena!!!!

Hey! I have PCOS and got my mirena in August. So far I love it. It took about 6 weeks for my body to get use to it (spotting to light flow) and then nothing after that. It is a blessing. So much better than oral hormones for contraceptive (although, my chances of conceiving are so low due to the PCOS, I'm not willing to risk that while my twins are still so young...i think you're in the same boat!). I do love it for many reasons, mostly because I'm not influenced by the hormones of the pill (moody, low sex drive, etc) and b/c I don't have to think about it!
