OK mamas - random question. Trying to sell our home and had an offer terminated because the pool inspector told potential buyer that our pool looked like a Blue Haven pool and he's seen a lot of them crack in half b/c they didn't install a metal beam. Our pool has been there for 14 years. My husbands uncle who's in the pool business says this is ridiculous. I agree but just wonder if there's any truth to it. I'd love to hear any info on this... especially if it could prove that this happened more recently or long ago than our pool was built. I think it's completely unethical that a pool inspector would say this but still list the pool in good condition. sounds like he has a grudge against Blue Haven.
I'm an appraiser and I have never heard of this. The pool inpsector was neither right or wrong to make this observation - the buyers hired him, that's their call and decision. I think your buyers had remorse about the deal and needed an "out" and this was it.
I wonder if they put that in writing in the report? If not then the next offer would be a good one based on the written report.
I would make sure the Realtor knew to say it had been nothing more than routine maintenance for over 14 years. That says something about how it was built.

35 seems like a lot of unresolved complaints to me, and these reports would raise concern.
What bothers me, though, is that the inspector created that concern without even knowing whether it is that brand.
I would make a complaint about the inspector since he did not know the brand of pool. He really had no right to make that comment unless it had the brand name showing or that he could prove it was installed incorrectly.
I would also at this point keep the copy of the report with the listing (the realtor probably has done this already). This way you (or potential buyer) shouldn’t need to have another done.
I am sorry I don’t know anything about Blue Haven pools our pool is concrete and gunite installed by the builders.
I have no idea. Did you have it installed yourselves? Do you KNOW who made it? I'd start with that...
Is it a Blue Haven pool? If it is and the inspector is correct about their poor construction practices, then he is doing what he was hired to do for the buyers.
