Has anything big happened lately to make her feel like she needs attention? That would be my first question. If not i would deffinetly see the ped.

I have a 3yr old daughter and she has been potty trained for over a year now. But, for some reason, she has started to regress! I don't know what to do. I have explained to her that big girls use the toilet and that it's yucky to pee your pants but she doesn't seem to get it. What could be causing her regression and what can I do to help her understand?

Hi A.,
I think all kids regress at some point, although I would tend to agree with what the others have said. Maybe have your ped. take a look at her just to be safe that she doesn't have something wrong. I just have to say that I am jealous--I have a 2 1/2 year old boy that isn't even in the slightest bit interested in potty training. He evan says that babies wear underwear and that big boys wear diapers. ARGH!!!! Hang im there and I am sure that it will all work out in the end.
PS I have a really good friend and a couple of other friends that live in Casper. Wonder if you know them (____@____.com) I know it is a big city, but maybe.
Best of luck,

Has any thing drimatice or stressful happend? My daughter is four and last year she all of a sudden started to pee the bed at night. i think it was because i was in a car accident and we move like three times since then but i have tryed this and it seems to work ignor it when she pees. children don't responed well to negitive things don't get mad just clean her up but when she goes in the potty say good job i am so proud of you. and it time you should see a change. when my daughter wakes up dry we get ice cream or a sticker on her good behaivor chart. and she seems to want to keep it up because she it getting attention from me when she it doing good thing and not really any when she is bad. so time they do it because they are getting the attention that way. I hope this help.

I would take her in to her doctor and check to see if she has a bladder infection or yeast infection.....Little girls can get them to....
My question to you is are there younger children in the household. I know that when there are younger children in the family that the one going through the potty training want to be treated like a baby since they "seem" to get more attention.

My little brother did the same thing when he was about three. If there is nothing that you can think of that has made her need or want more attention or something that is bothering her, next ask the babysitter or anyone who spends lots of time with her. IF you still get no answers I would take her to the dr just to make sure that things are ok.
My brother had a pinched nerve in his back. They said that there is no time to think when this happens you really have no control over your blatter. Good luck
Interesting thing, I'm going through the same thing right now with my 3 year old girl. I think my daughter is just getting too involved in her activities and forgets until it's too late. The question is yes, what do we do about it? Hope someone has help for us moms.
