Preferred Diaper Brand for a Very Active 9 Month Old Little Girl, Size 3, and Y?

I have a active daughter who crawls everywhere and is in size 3. I had started her on swaddlers (they are the best)so when she reached size three I naturally kept her with pampers, and tried thier crusiers line. I like them, but I noticed when she pees alot that it sags dramatically in the crotch area and rubs her legs and irritates the skin there. They hold through the night still for her though, which is good. Now i know this could be with all brands but I thought I could always use another opinion. A friend of a friend told me Huggies natural fit work best for little girls, so I am trying those out this week. Thanks for any advice you can throw my way!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you for all the advice. I have been trying huggies supreme now this week and so far they are wonderful. I would like to ad that many of you gave me great reponses, but some of you get an attitude and say things like "just change her diaper". I would like to say, I do change my daughter as soon as I notice she is wet...she is not a baby who cries and doesnt like a dirty diaper, so I only know/notice it when i am picking her up/ holding her/ or smell somthing. I simply wanted to know which diapers others preferred...so thank you all who gave me good advice.

Well, when the diapers gets so full that it sags and irritates her, it sounds like it is time to change her diaper. No matter what brand you use, that is probably going to happen.

I use Costco's Kirkland brand diapers and love them. For my older daughter who peed a lot at night I bought a size bigger for at night. My second daughter just wore the regular size. We also use Huggies depending on which is cheaper at Costco Huggies or the Kirkland brand. I also love the Kirkland brand wipes.

I thought I had to have pampers with my first girl until I tried the Kirkland brand.

Good Luck,

M.

I would totally argue with you about Pampers being the best! haha... I tried them with both of my boys and they leaked like they were wearing regular underwear with both of them. I always had to use Huggies brand, I tried Luvs as well, but I just didn't like them.

We have a 16 month old little boy, who is also very active. Huggies Natural Fit is the only brand that keeps him dry at night and fits well throughout the day. One thing to remember is most kids stay in size 3 for quite a long time. My 16 month is still in size 3, so they're cute kinda long through the crotch area. You might have to tighten it up just a little bit until she grows into them better. Good Luck! C.

I have tried so many different types of diapers for my son (he just turned one). The generic diapers always leaked over night. I have had the best luck with Pampers Cruisers, they never leak and I really like the elastic waist. Though, it seems that every child is different with diapers. I guess it just takes some experimentation to find the right kind...

Our daughters are the same age. We switched from Huggies to Pampers about 2 months ago when our daughter was blowing up the back of her diapers. What a huge mess! We have not had that problem with the pampers- Baby Dry kind. However, the pampers were not making it through the night. My daughter would wake up soaked in the front by 2 am. We started using Huggies overnights which have worked great. They held a whole nights wetness and then a morning poop too! That was a heavy diaper. I haven't tried the cruisers, but as active as my daughter is getting we may have to. Do you change your daughter immediately when she is wet or do you let it go a few times? I change my daughter immediately as she has never been one to tolerate wetness, even a little. I know some people who stretch the length of time because they figure the baby wears one diaper overnight, but I haven't done that.

I too loved the Swaddlers but never found the Cruisers to work for either my skinny boy or my chubby girl. So we ended up with Huggies (which we bought in bulk from Sam's) but I have also tried the BabiesRUs brand and thought it performed as satisfactorily as Huggies. It was great if you could get a coupon and buy on sale, otherwise, it was just more cost efficient for us to hit Sam's since it was closer.

As for making it through the nights...only use GOODNIGHTS by Huggies. They totally ROCK! If the kids start peeing through them, then just move up to the next size and you'll be fine.

Good morning, Shelly! Hands down for both of my kids Pampers Cruisers have been the best overall. I have a 3 y/o daughter who is (hooray) now wearing big girl panties and an 11 month old son. You may try going up to the next size; I have found that worked for us when their diapers started leaking. We have tried Huggies and they were fine, Pampers just seemed to fit my kids better. I have also tried Seventh Generation and Earth's Best chlorine-free disposables with my son and they seemed to do really well, no leaking. I have not tried above size 3 though. I don't get these all the time, b/c they aren't as readily available as Pampers. The price is pretty comparable.

Good luck!!

I had a very acive daughter and a not so active son. I was/ am not a big fan of the pampers crusiers. I use the pampers baby dry. One thing they are a little cheaper and you get more in a package (or at least you used to). I noticed the last time that I bought diapers that they reduced the number in the boxes.

I have tried just about every diaper brand out there, and I have found Luvs to be the best by far!! They hold more liquid than Pampers, and they are cheaper.

Save yourself some money....I've used COSTCO brand diapers almost since my baby was born. Leaks have been rare.

I have found the off brand diapers (usually dept stores not grocery stores) actually hold the urine in better, and therefore their shape. The only time my son's diapers do that is if we lost track of time and he could have been changed sooner. I find the Huggies and Pampers need to be changed more often as they hold less and this dragging diaper happens. The only reason I figured this out is with the baby being in and out of the hospital. Otherwise, I would not buy name brand.

I personally liked pampers cruisers, but I had a boy. I have heard from friends of mine with girls that Huggies works better for them...don't know why, but it is just what I've heard. Good luck!

We have found that Pull-ups (Huggies?) work better than the Pampers brand.

I preferred Luvs with my kids. they were all allergic to huggies so can't compare to them but never did like pampers at all and luvs are cheaper, seemed to absorb more and the kids didn't get rashes as often as other babies using pampers or huggies. I also didn't use baby wipes when they were newborn, we used bounty paper towels and water until they were at least 3-4 months old and was cheaper so continued to use papertowels at home but used babywipes in the diaper bag when they were past the newborn sensitive skin stage.

We started with Pampers when our oldest was born and then someone recommended the Luvs brand too us. We have used them ever since. They are cheaper then the Pampers and the Huggies and have always workef just as good if not better. We have never had problems with leaks at night or any other time for that matter. The only time we had problems with blow outs was when it was time to move to the next size.

I found Pampers Baby Dry and Target diapers good for during the day. They are thinner and seem to hug the body better. The only problem I had with the Target diapers is that you don't get a warning that they are wet (they don't expand like Pampers), so you just need to be on top of checking them. Overnight my recommendation is Huggies Overnights.

It is so funny to read the variety of answers! We tried Luvs, Pampers and Huggies. Huggies have been the best by far. Luvs just plain did not work for us and Pampers always felt like they were wet. Our daughter is 20 months and we have had less than 5 blow outs and very few times when she leaked through at night. The only times it's happened has been when she's in that in between time on diaper sizes and probably needs to move up anyway.
