Hi Moms,

I am expecting and I do not want to invest much into maternity clothes seeing how this is my last child. Can you please email me any suggestion on reasonable priced maternity clothing including dresses.

Thanks

I have a box and a bag of maternity clothes sitting in my garage. They are free to a good home. I live in Crown Point if you would like them. You could come get them or I could meet you somewhere if you are interested. My email is ____@____.com if you want more info.

Hi S.,

What size are you? I actually have a tub of maternity clothes that I won't be using :( as I am just getting too old to have any more babies!

Let me know if you are interested, we could strike a deal. There are winter and summer items as I got pregnant in October and my son was born in July.

Not sure where you live but you might get FREE hand-me-downs from a local freecycle.org group.

It's a network that recycles used items from clothes to computers. It's been a great resource for me.

I asked friends who had children if they had clothes that I can borrow and it helped me alot. I borrowed the basic and wasn't shy to wear their clothes. All my maternity clothes I did buy was on sale at Target from their Liz Lange collection. They always have stuff on sale. I brought my jeans at Old Navy from their maternity collection but online but good prices. Good Luck and congrats.

Hi Stacy,
I had good luck at Old Navy in Orland Park. They have a very small Maternity section, but if your there at the right time they have good clearance prices. I got jeans ($7), two pairs of khakis ($7 each) and some cute sun dresses that were also marked down to $7. I even got a few long sleeve shirts as low as 2.99. Hope that helps!

There is a second hand maternity store (or used to be anyway) in Batavia, IL. called, Twice is Nice. They have maternity clothes as well as children's clothing, decor and a few nursury basics. I had very good luck there a while back. Their number is ###-###-#### and they're located at 4 E Wilson St, Batavia. There is also a Motherhood Maternity outlet at the outlet mall in Batavia so make a day of it and enjoy!

I had good luck with FreeCycle, thrift stores, and even eBay. Sellers often sell clothes in lots. Just make sure they have good feedback (I would say 95% or better and read their negatives if they are very recent.)

Congrats!

I hit garage sales like crazy. Also resale shops, but they can be kind of pricey sometimes. I went to an outlet mall and hit Motherhood Maternity.
Check on Freecycle, Craigslist, and ebay. Can get good deals there too. I just got a huge box from someone who was giving stuff away on Freecycle. I'll admit, some of it is not the most stylish or might be too big...but when it's a day that I know I'm going to be at home all day and not be out where people might see me...who cares? As long as you are comfortable.
Another place I just hit was the Salvation Army. Or Goodwill. I got 5 shirts for $5.11!!
Hang in there!

You might try the Once Upon a Child stores in Orland or Joliet. Both have a small prego section. Also great for used kids stuff in great shape in case your older stuff is used up.

Hi Stacy,

Try Sears & Carson. Also, if you go to Mimi Maternity, Motherhood is in the back of the store and always has wonderful sales. I think Wal-mart has a very small section.

I got all of mine from Motherhood Maternity, they are pretty cheap for the basics when you get them on sale. You can also try Gordman's they have a great maternity section that is reasonable.

I got a lot of stuff off ebay, but that is only really cost-effective if you can buy several items from the same seller and combine shipping costs. Also check The Second Child on Armitage - they have consignment stuff - I was able to find a few items there that were nice. Most of my "stash" is shared between me and my sister, though. Do you have a friend or sister that is close to the same size as you?

I would try and buy items to make your existing clothes go farther - ex. button stretcher, etc. Or, maybe try buying some clothes in regular stores and then once you are done, bring them to a resale shop/sell your self. I'd check craigslist, ebay, freecycle. Good luck and congrats!

Hi Stacy,

I sold mine on eBay, so that might be a good place to start.

Good luck!
