H.H.
I can't even begin to describe the giant smile on my face right now - what a beautiful story! :o)
So happy for you both, and wishing you many years of happiness and many more moments as memorable as this one!
As some of you know, I was planning to propose to my boyfriend at some point this weekend. I chose to do it last night. We went out to dinner (A buffet at the casino) and a movie (The Vow). We were sitting in a wal-mart parking lot waiting for my car to warm up (He had picked me up right from work to go out on our date), and were exchanging "gifts". I told him that he had to give me my gift first. He told me to close my eyes and hold out my hand. I did, thinking he was going to give me another Sims game (I love Sims so this is usually what he gets me for any occasion). He put the box in my hand and told me to open my eyes. I opened my eyes, saw the ring, and immediately started tearing up. He asked me to marry him. I told him that I was going to answer his question by giving him his gift. I told him to close his eyes and hold out his hand. I put his ring in his hand (His ring didn't come with a little velvet box) and told him to open his eyes. He did and said, "What is this?" I responded with, "This is me asking you to marry me." We both said yes, of course! It was a proposal that fit our relationship perfectly :)
So for my question... How did your husband propose to you, OR how did you propose to your husband?
I can't even begin to describe the giant smile on my face right now - what a beautiful story! :o)
So happy for you both, and wishing you many years of happiness and many more moments as memorable as this one!
Thank goodness he had a plan and was able to be the man in this situation!! Just a bonus that you were not alone in this!!
Aaaaw, what a lovely outcome to the story! Thanks for the update.
Congrats to you both!
:)
V.:
congratulations.
Bob proposed to me on July 13th 1996 at 40K feet. I was sleeping. He woke me up - we were on our way back to Germany after coming back to the States to meet family and attend a wedding. He woke me up - and asked how the trip went (the sun was just coming up over Europe). I told him "fine" - I was grumpy - he woke me up. Then he asked some other questions - I said 'fine." then he asked what I thought of him. I said he was wonderful. he asked wonderful enough to marry? Brought out my engagement ring and I said yes. The flight attendants had champagne ready.
Oh wow, this couldn't have worked out any better! Congratulations!
love the story! Congrats to the both of you!!
Awsome that you both had the same idea. Mine asked me on New Years Day 2006, a few moments after midnight. We were home, playing Diablo together, he got up and asked me, at first I thought it was our little thing we had gotten into doing. Randomly asking "Hey, you wanna get married?" or "Hey Mister/Lady, I'm going to marry you." The ring was already on my hand because I lived WAY out of state and we knew there wouldn't be anyone else, it was bought before I had to return to Alaska Thanksgiving '04. He had to tell me it was for really real that time. Of course I said yes.
I remember your question and thought, "Don't do it girl! Let him have his moment!". But the way this worked out is so awesome!! You guys are so meant to be together. What a great, unique story!
To answer your question, my husband proposed in a castle. I kinda knew it was coming but loved it anyway!
Congradulations...you seem meant for eachother. Very sweet .
That sounds fairy tale perfect!! So happy for you both!!!
Mine was in the beach at nighttime.
Oh CUTE! You proposed to EACHOTHER simultaneously!
Congrats!
Omg! Congrat's! What a beautiful story! Hubby and I met at a graduation party in 98' and my mother and his mother became friend's (not so much anymore! LOL) and we went out acouple of times and he met up with my father and older (and only) brother and asked them for permission first. We went out to dinner and as we were walking to the car he came to open my door then got down on one knee in the parking lot and asked me, it took me acouple of minutes to answer only because I was shocked and in tears but of course I said yes! We are happily going on 14 years and strong! Congrat's to the both of you!
Great story! That sounds like a perfect way to start an engagement.
That is the cutest thing! So awesome!! Big Congrats!
My husband proposed at the waterfront on the exact same bench we had written our names in a heart on our very first date. It was so sweet.
You are just a sweetie!!! I so hope everything works out for the both of you. Young love....how grand! I looked at your profile picture.....you are soooo cute. Good Luck!
Oh my gosh that is the neatest thing EVER!!!! Congratulations!! Obviously you are meant for each other, I mean, great minds thing alike!! And my husband did not propose to me. He said, well I guess we should get married!! That was after we dated over 8 years. haha so I love your story. Happy wedding planning!!!
Awwww... that is the sweetest story! I am so happy for you. My husband is from Mexico and they have a saying for whenever two lovers are thinking the same thing or thinking of eachother at the same time, like when we both text each other at the same moment.... he says "Nuestro amor es sincero!" That means "Our love is sincere!" Best of luck and love.
Congratulations! What a unique story too!!! ;-) I bet that rarely, if ever, happens!
Congrats to the two of you. Take your time and plan a nice small wedding. May you two have a long and happy life together. Always plan for a date night and allow flexibility for things don't happen just the way you want.
The other S.
40 years and going strong
PS Hubby had just come back from Thailand and we went to a jewelry store. I came out with an engagement ring. We had our wedding about six weeks later as he was being assigned to Tucson.
I love your story.....I wish you and your future husband a long and happy life together.
Blessings......
Hi V.,
I'm so happy to hear how that worked out! Congratulations :)
My husband was in the States on a student visa. We'd been dating for about a year. He'd been looking for a job and was hoping to get a work visa, but it didn't look like it was going to happen, and we were both dismayed at the thought that he might have to leave the country. I said, "Well, we could get married..."
After that, it was sort of like your story in that we were planning to get married, we arranged a simple and inexpensive ceremony. I always sort of wished I could have had a more traditional proposal, but my husband is not the traditional type.
I like your story better! :)
Congrats to both of you! So cute!
My first hubby proposed at the top of the Log Ride...thank God he didn't drop the ring! Lol!
My second hubby took my mom and I out to eat dinner at a nice restaraunt. He had given the ring to the servers and asked them to bring it out with dessert. They ran out to the yard and picked some flowers and put them on a plate with the ring in the box in the middle. It was so sweet and I was so shocked and happy!
Congratulations!!! What a great story to tell people in the future!!
Hubby proposed to me on my 25th birthday. We had been together for 4.5 years and talked about marriage since year 1. I had just completed my student teaching that day and it was a Friday. I was getting ready for our date (he told me to dress comfortable) and heard him go outside and then come back in (found out later he called my dad to ask him if he could marry me!). We went to the place we went on our first date - the biggest man made lake in IL. It was very cold and windy so we didn't get out of the car but had stopped and gotten food on the way so we ate and then were talking and then he started saying how much he loved me and wanted to know if I would be his wife and brought out the ring! I was so excited and happy - I figured he would never ask because I always wanted him to and figured I'd find out before he did it. I was so excited to call everyone but everyone already knew!!!
