Pros/Cons With Using Electronic Bark Stop

Am I wrong or don't the dogs have to wear these collars for them to work? Just wondering how you plan to secretly get these collars on your neighbor's dogs!!?? LOL Dogs are usually barking becasue that's their job.
Personally, I am a dog owner, and if a neighbor bought a bark stop collar for ME to put on MY dog I would probably pitch it out! It delivers a shock to the dog and I wouldn't use O.. However, I am aware of my dog and do not let him bark at all hours or for prolonged periods of time. I would try again to talk to your neighbors. Seems like if they ignore your pleas, you will have little recourse but to report them.

If you have success PLEASE let me know....my neighbors dogs are horrible!!! I love animals, but the owners just don't keep them in check. I hope you have success!!

We had been having trouble for months with our neighbors and their dogs. The dogs will bark all day and all night and it does not seem to bother them.

We have two little dogs that annoy us to death with their barking at times. My husband and I bought one of those devices for indoors and it actually was pretty effective (when the batteries were working). I would give it a try BUT save the packaging and reciept. When we bought ours they said that if it wasn't effective at solving our problem we could return it.

Ah yes if only they would stop barking! I know what device your speaking of. Its 50/50 some dogs are affected buy it others aren't, if you do get it, make sure it has a guarantee. BC if it doesn't work you should get your money back! Please let me know if it works for you! There are a few dogs on my block Id like to stop barking.

question: what kind of dogs are they? if they are part of the "hound" group, good luck getting them to stop barking, it's just their nature. Otherwise, give the device a try, if that doesn't work, I'd have a LONG talk w/your neighbors and just tell them that their dogs are disruptive and if they don't control it soon you're going to have to take different measures. We also have very, VERY vindictive neighbors and unfortunately have gone through something similar (except it included their dogs attacking ours) and we gave them several attempts and more than ample time to correct the problem. Needless to say, they didn't so we had to file a complaint. The outcome is: we simply don't talk w/them anymore. So, good luck!

I used to work for sharper image and sold the dog bark device. it works for some dogs and not for others. I heard that it works better for small ones than big ones. they are not harmful and you will not hear anything. i would try it. if not can you do any kind of pet training? May be go to the library and see if they have any books on this subject?

I'm not sure what exactly this device is, but if it's expensive I wouldn't bother. My dogs howl at unpleasant noises and it might just cause another type of annoyance. That being said, if your neighbors are not responsible dog owners and considerate neighbor's then call and make a complaint. If you have already tried to speak to them, why should you have to put up with rudeness from them. Try not to hate the dogs, they don't know any better - it's their job to protect their territory and they do it by barking. The owners should bring them in and be considerate of others.
