, DH's has a third cousin twice removed or something that is emloyed by disney and if he could get us some sort of discount on passes or hotel i would love to reconnect ( it's been 2 years since we have seen them) and ask, but if there isn't anything then i won't bother.

I didn't say that very delicately, but i hope someone can answer. TIA

So What Happened?

yup nice huh, actually that wasn't my real question. the family member is closer, we have contacted him, he offered something and we just wondered if it standard, since there was a question earlier about free tickets again it still comes down to using someone but i'm so glad there are so many decent people in the world that would never wonder something like this.

You want to reconnect to get some sort of discount or you won't bother?

Actually, as of the beginning of this year benefits were changed, employees and retirees have to pay some of the cost of the tickets, no freebies. They have to go in with you to buy the tickets, and technically are supposed to stay with their group in the park, that's always been the rule.

Perhaps you should look into Mousesavers and Couponing to Disney before planning your trip to save money.

Cast members are given a certain amount of free passes per year if I remember correctly. Basically you will only connect with him, if there is something in it for you. Wow. Don't know if their year goes from January to January of what. Also, if I remember correctly the cast member must be present to get tickets. So I guess it's up to you and if it is worth it reconnecting or not. Personally, I could not use someone like that, I would just buy the passes.

Wow USING someone you haven't spoke to in years for cheap Disney tickets, hmmm...to answer your question NO they don't get free tickets they have to pay. My friend works there and she just bought tickets for her nephews birthday, who she actully talks to everyday. I would buy your own tickets.

The only way you can get in with a Disney employee is if they are with you (you then get in for free). The employees get a nice discount if they purchase merchandise, I think about 30% or so.

These are for employees that work in the parks not at the Disney stores. I also think it would be rude to ask if you have never met his cousin or if they are not close at all.

I forgot, his cousin can purchase resident tickets for children but not adults (they will ask for Florida ID for adults).
