Have sex as soon as you see the hormone surge and also try to get another round in 24 hours later.
Hi moms -
I'm using an ovulation test kit to predict ovulation (of course). The kit says that it predicts ovulation by detecting a hormone surge 24 to 48 hours before ovulation occurs. So, my question is as follows: once the surge is detected, when am I actually most likely to get pregnant? The day of the test? 24 hours after the test? 48 hours? Answers only, please - no guesses.
Thanks!

My understanding is that it's actually best to have sex before the hormone surge. You will need to track your the dates so you will know next month when to have sex. That's what worked for us.
If your cervical mucous looks like egg white, you need to have sex. A book that I read said the ovulation kits sometimes show positive too late.
Here is an article about what to look for with your mucous. (Hate that word, btw!)

Good luck!
It detects your surge 24 to 48 hrs before ovulation. So you are expected to have sex within that time frame. Therefore if you are to get pregnant on that cycle it 'should' happen within 48 hrs of your surge appearing on the test strip
Just out of curiousity though, why is it so important to know exactly when you wil get pregnant? Like to the hour I mean
I tried using the ovulation test strips to get pregnant and they just didnt work for me. I figured I would give it a shot because my periods were all over the map and I think because I was putting so much pressure on myself it didnt happen. The month I just threw my hands up and said let it be Boom I was pregnant
Good Luck to you and baby dust all over =)
I used the kits to conceive both our girls. For us it worked best to try the day the surge is detected and the next day.
I used OPKs to get preggo with both of my kids.
Both times, when I got a positive, we had sex the night of the positive result, as well as the following day.
2 beautiful kids to show for it!
