I need some advice on how to hang alphabet cards on my son's wall. They are of heavy, glossed 8 1/2 x 11 card stock. I initially used that ticky tack stuff. The cards stayed on for a while but one by one, they are falling off. Only 5 are left hanging:( I don't want to frame 26 cards or use tacks....any other suggestions on what to use? Many Thanks!

You can tack up a sturdy string and use clothes pins to pin the cards on the string. That way you can take one card down, use and be able to put it right up. It also allows for being able to scramble the cards and have your little one put them back in order. Hope this helps.

This is going to sound crazy--but I would try hot glue. It won't tear up your walls and if you just use a little dab, it will peel right off and it more than likely won't even chip the paint. But use only a small dot, since the letters seem to be so light weight. I use hot glue for everything. So you might want to give it a try.

In my kiddos playroom I use a clothesline to hang their art work and alphabet cards. It only requires 2 nails, or you could get some of those 3M hooks (that use foam tape which doesn't damage the surface its stuck to).

Since you do not want to change the integrity of the card. I suggest you scotch tape a ribbon to the back and hang with the ribbon. or if acceptable - get a hole punch shape and use that hole as the place for the ribbon to go thru. hang on a tack or brad....

another option and they are tiny holes is a stapler - flatten out the staplier and tack cards to wall. this is a wonderful solution for posters. easy to remove. small holes in the wall and it doesn't change the integrity of the item too much if careful! Good luck!

Hi A.,

I have done this exact same thing in my son's room, with alphabet wall cards, and I did like the first poster suggested and actually used one of those photo pens with double sided tape to adhere a red grosgrain ribbon to the card and then hung them on a metal hook, but one of the metal hooks from the Container Store that adheres to the wall without damage. If you send me your personal email address I will send you a picture.

The cards are great decoration.
