Hello mamas! My son has sensitive skin. On occasion he gets tiny red bumps all over, mainly on his cheeks and chin. I have tried using Vaseline and fave lotion neither seems to work. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance:)

I think DN has good advice--Aquafor on her son's excema. My sister is family practice and she recommended that stuff for my daughter's dry winter skin. I don't know if cortisone is okay to use on babies--you could probably just call the doc's office and describe the problem.

I have very sensitive skin. All I use is Dove soap (white only) and Lubriderm lotion. Just about anything else will break me out.

I remember my son having something like this when he was small. The doctor told us to put hydrocortisone cream on it. It helped a lot.

You might try Arbonne products. They are pure, safe, and beneficial. I recommend the Skin Conditioning Oil and the Baby Care line (wash, lotion, body oil), which is also good for sensitive skin. Addiionally, changing laundry soap/fabric softner may help. Go green with organics or at least use dye/fragrance free products.

This sounds like a yeast infection to me. His cheeks and chin would often be wet from slobbering, eating, drinking etc. Warm wet skin often breeds yeast infections. You should try some lotramin cream, the kind that you use for athletes foot.

Is he using a pacifier? That is also a terrible culprit for fostering yeast infection on the face and around the mouth.

Aquaphor works best. I would have the doctor check him out though. If it gets worse, the doc can prescribe a light steroid that they mix with Aquaphor but you have to be careful with steroids - too much can cause skin atrophy in babies. Check your detergent too and if you don't already, switch to a "free & clear" type - that might help. Could just be allergies. Also, both my sons had eczema and I found they would break out if they got over-heated. Good luck!

This happened to my son, we found out it was the detergent we were washing our clothes in (not his), just his face rubbing against our clothes was giving him a rash on his face. I would take him to the peditrician before putting anything on it, could be something simple, I never put anything on our sons face, it just went away.

E.,
I just saw your request. Have you heard of Jordan Essentials made in Nixa Mo? The owner's husband had exema, so she starting making Oatmeal, milk, & honey products for him. My daughter has dry skin in winter and this has been an amazing product for her also. I would be happy to send you some samples if you would like to give it a try.
Just pm me.

I would take him to the doc, just to be sure. If it is yeast, you could be making it worse by putting vaseline on it, because that would trap the moisture. If it's not yeast, a friend of mine uses Aquafor on her son's excema, and it works wonders.
