My 4 year old has small red spots on bottom of both feet and between some toes, no where else on body or mouth. He did battle a intermittent temperature for last 72 hours. Any ideas on what this might be?

Thank you :)

Try looking at images for Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. It's viral and common for her age.

Do they itch at all?
Any peeling skin?
Could be Hand Foot and Mouth or Athlete's Foot but it might be Dyshidrosis.

Best thing to do is see a doctor about it and get an accurate diagnosis and treatment for it.
All we can do is make guesses.

Very possibly could be Hand Foot and Mouth. One of my kids had the blisters start as red spots. She only had them on her feet and diaper area. She didn't have a fever. My son had a fever and blisters on his hands and feet. It can manifest in lots of different ways.

my kids just got over hand foot and mouth disease. I actually have it now too, but only in my mouth :( It's terribly painful and I've been living on popsicles and smoothies all week. Adults can also get it and it's very contagious. The dr. said that it's really going around right now.

It could be hand, foot, and mouth disease. It sounds exactly like how my daughter had it, she only got it on her feet.

I would se about getting into the doc. So many things could be going on. There is also a measles outbreak.

Based on experience I suggest this rash is the result of the virus which likely caused the fever. Rashes are common with a virus.

This is unlikely measles. Measles rash first appears on the trunk. I grew up when nearly every child had measles. Now, measles is rare.

There are a few cases of measles being reported nation wide. I would not call that an outbreak. Reports are that children getting measles are ones who have not been inoculated. It's believed that the measles have been brought in from outside the country. I suggest your child is not at risk for measles.

I suggest you call an advice nurse to get the best advice.
