Usually M&Ms sell holiday mixes--Easter will be pastels, Halloween bags have orange and black, Christmas bags have red & green...so see if you can find a 4th of July mix at Walmart or Target. Otherwise, I like the marshmallow idea:)
I'm trying to think of some last minute decorating ideas for our Independence Day celebrations. I wanted to add some small decorative glassware to my tablescape with red, white and blue candies in them. I plan to use plain M & M's for the red and blue. What can I use for the white? Tic Tacs are too small. Don't what jelly beans. Could use white lifesavers but I would have to unwrap them all :( . Don't really have time to hunt down white M& M's at special candy stores.
Are there white candies out there that I just don't know about?

I saw red, white and blue m&ms or something similar at walmart or cvs yesterday. My son picked them out, but fortunately we're going out of town to grandmas, so we didn't get them and I didn't pay that much attention. Just thought I would mention it.
If you have a JoAnn fabric/craft store nearby, they sell a variety of colored M&M's
yogurt covered raisins
mini-marshamallows?
Almond Joy bites?
They sell individual colors of M&M's at Wal-Mart now.
You have good answers so far. Also, you really wouldn't have to unwrap the white lifesavers, people could do it for themselves! ;) Party City also sells individual colors of M&Ms now too. I think if you just go to the candy aisle, you'll find something!
White chocolate chips?
We just bought yougurt covered pretzels in the candy aise at our local grocery store. We also just bought Sun Maid yogurt covererd raisins from the produce section. Mini marshmallows are easy to find.
I have seen individual colors of M&Ms in tubs at WalMart. I'm sure there was white.
Mini marshmellows
yogurt ot white choc covered raisins.
You could use white baker's chocolate chips or marshmallos.
You might look at white butter mints or white chocolate (often found in party stores).
Sounds like fun creative decorations, if staying with a "food" theme red and blue M & M's, what about minature marshmallows for the white? Or maybe some of the little afterdinner mints in white? Or just pour some sugar in your glassware.
I have seen white candles in abundance, especially the "tea lights" which are very inexpensive. Old Tyme Pottery or Bed Bath and Beyond, I would think Walmart or the Dollar Stores would have white candles..
Have fun!
They do sell white m&m's .... I've seen them in the supermarket.
Butter mints, good-n-plenty...
Peppermints, salt water taffy, white m&ms, snow caps, altoids ;)
