I am in tje process of redoing our kitchen and choosing new appliances. I am hoping to get some personal feedback on Kitchaid refrigerators specifically. I have looked online but have not had any luck finding reviews. I will be putting in a 48 inch, built in, panel ready model but I will take any reviews for Kitchenaid refrigerators. Thanks ladies!!!

What can I do next?

I had a 48inch, built in, side-by-side, stainless steel KitchenAid fridge in my last home. Aside from the fingerprints-all-over-the-stainless-steel issue (which you won't have with the panels), I had absolutely no complaints about my fridge. I picked it when we did our remodel and was perfectly happy with it for the entire 4 years I lived with it. It's held up well in the last 2 years that we've had renters in the house, too. It's never had any problems, the freezer keeps ice-cream perfectly frozen without making it rock-hard, there's plenty of space in it, etc. My sister has a built-in Thermador fridge and hates it. The door is super heavy to open, the alarm sometimes goes off for no reason, she's just not thrilled with it. I TOLD her to get the KitchenAid, but NOOOO, she wanted the more expensive one... Generally, I've been happy with every KitchenAid appliance I've ever installed, except for the combination microwave/convection oven - THAT one kept overheating and I'd NEVER get it again.

We have a kitchenaid side by side fridge and like it. We have young kids, and the fridge starts beeping after the door has been left open for too long, which is a great feature and has come in handy many times. Also, the water/ice dispenser has a lock feature that prevents the kids from playing with the water and ice. We like ours.

We just bought a refrigerator. One thing to think about is how the water dispenser works. The new style of water dispenser is so messy!! It often splashes and it is so annoying because it splashes on the stainless steel and you will be constantly cleaning it. You cannot try this feature in the store and if I had to do it again, I would skip it. Here is a link to show you a fridge similar to what we bought with that feature:

I LOVE mine. I had a top of the line Maytag and it died within 5 yrs.

I got the Kitchen Aid because I had purchased the Kitchen Aid dishwasher and loved it so much.

We've since redone our cooktop and replaced it with Kitchen Aid.

I have a side by side with water/ice dispenser, love the size, ease of use. The ice container is in the door which means more storage in the freezer section. We change the water filter every 6 months and they rul about $40 each.

I can't say enough good overall about Kitchen Aid. Enjoy

We purchased the Kitchenaid Elite side by side refrigerator (around a year ago) and we love it, we bought it to match our Kitchenaid Elite 36" stove (both we bought on clearence). We have had no problems with it, it cleans really easy and even the door wipe done easy. Love the water and ice in the door and it is easy to replace the filter. We did not like the flatter newer water/ice in the door features and are glad we purchased the one we did.
