Have you tried lunges with weights? Those seem to help me. Also, inner and outer thigh machines (if you have a gym membership). Also, glute lifts on the floor with ankle weights. Hope this helps.

Ok girls I need some help in the rear- end department. Summer is coming and I look a bit how you say..."bumpy and saggy" in the "caboose". I am pretty toned everywhere else and not over weight, so it doesnt look right. It's very embaressing actually. I try doing squats and walking/running. I drink lots of water. I need some real advice from those of you with great derriers...how do I get one too???

We can all relate! =) I found that when I was doing pilates leg and gluets work, it helped my behind tone up fairly quickly. Good luck!
i have a great excercise but it would be hard to explain it...why don't you go online and look up excercises that will tone this area...i get lots of good ideas from magazines and work-out videos...
K.,
Mary Kay has a rather new product out now called Cellu-shape and it really does help smooth out lumps and bumps. It also helps tone those "wonderful" areas too.
Mary Kay has a 100% money back policy if you are not happy with the products you choose. I am also running a special on it right now (normally 55 for set, now until end of April is 45). I am starting to use it again to get ready for shorts and bathing suit time :( I really noticed a difference last year when I used it.
You can go to www.marykay.com/ahawkins429 to get more information and contact me.
I "feel" your pain and wish you luck,
A.
I am a workout fanatic and I hit the gym at least 3 days a week for around 2 hours. I can tell you the best exercises that I do for my bum is to walk fast on the tread mill at an incline of 15 for 15-20 minutes and then to do 4 sets of 20-25 lunges. If you do these at least 3 days a week I promise you will see results by June. I talked with a trainer and they said to at least do your lunges and situps daily no matter what else you do. Best of luck in your bikini!
Gilad (the hottie hosting Bodies in Motion and Total Body Sculpt on Fit Tv) did it for me in high school and college and I am sure if, he will do it for me again now that my metabolism has gone dormant :-(. Butts and abs are his specialty. You can work out with him for free with commercial interruptions on tv or purchase his video so it can just be you and hunky Gilad! Hey that's motivation enough for me!
Hi K.,
I use a product called Timeless Body Smoother that has gotten rid of the "bumpy" part. The saggy part, however, is going to take more effort, lol. Saggy will probably require exercise known as squats. The way to tone that muscle that goes from the back of your thigh into your "caboose" is to squat slowly repetitively. To start I would start with 10 squats twice and then build up. Make sure you do them slowly to tone. Fast to remove....
If you want to know more about the Timeless, let me know. It has an incredible natural formula.

M.
If you get a chance, or have access to a gym with classes...spin is the best for liftin the booty. It's indoor cycling and it's ALOT harder than it sounds. You burn tons of calories and it strengthens in all the right places. Good luck!
Just to let you and everyone know... bumpy can be cause by the elastic wrapped around your thigh from your panties. I'm working on what I like to call my upper butt! The part attached to my hip that sticks out further than my butt and I found some info about the elastic. Boy shorts, thongs or even no panties to prevent the "bumps".
Put more weight into your squats. I found that the more you're holding the more affective it is to get a result. I can feel it!!!
As others stated: lunges, incline walking/running, squats, and back kicks (donkey kicks on all 4s) I do these religiously and my hubby loves my bum! ;) lol Good luck!
I just started a basic step class with some cardio mixed and and let me tell you my butt cheecks and hamstrings are feeling the burn just after 1 class!!! I've never done anything like go to the gym or take a workout class but it was fun and I can't wait till next Tuesday so I can do it again!!! I also do a lot of walking with my son in the stroller or the wagon. The wagon is great cause you'll pull it and feel it in the back of your thighs/lower butt too!!
Good luck!! I'm trying to get myself back in a better form for summer myself!!

Hi K., I know what you mean. I work out and do all the right stuff and I have the same problem. I am also probably older than you at 50. One thing that really helped was...get this....belly dancing. Does a nice job on the back and hips too. Good luck. Just cause we are "moms" doesnt mean we cant be "hot" too. :) Genie P.S. I am a ceramic artist , do a little jewelry.

Here's another idea. One you might even have without leaving your home: Climb your stairs girl! A lot! Try lunges on your first two stairs also. This'll directly focus in on your bum.
E.
Lunges! I go up the road to a hill and do lunges up and down the hill. I also do pilates at home. All my girl friends hate me cause they say I have a great butt.
Good Luck!
Hi K.,
Doing squats and lunges with weights is a great way to tone up the glutes. Choose a fun, upbeat song and continue doing lunges through the song or as long as you can. On the next song do squats with or without weights. Walking or running for aerobic fitness is good but if you want to burn fat you need to walk for a longer period of time...at least 45 min. This works for me! Good luck!

There are some excersise tapes design for our rear end department
Hi K.!
A friend and myself (we are both new moms) recently opened a fitness workout program for moms..it's called Stroller Strides. Rather than trying to find time to go to the gym and not wanting to leave your baby. This is a program where your baby comes with. We had our Grand Opening @ Harmony on the Lakes Subdivision last weekend and it was a blast. Check out our website, I'd love to meet you! www.strollerstrides.net/northatlanta.
Hope to see you soon...I can totally relate!

There is a product online called Bender Ball and it comes with 3 dvds. Right now, you can get it for 12.99. It works your thighs, buns, and abs. It is great and if you have children they will try to do it with you and it is great exercise!!
Try an excercise called the fire hydrant. You get on all fours, hands and knees. You start with either leg. You raise your knee about 2 inches off the ground. You start lifting your leg sideways as high as you can. Looking like a dog doing his business. You then lower it back to the start position. Make sure that your knee doesn't touch the ground. You do about 50 on each leg to start off with. Once you get used to this excercise you can incorporate the kick back. With the kick back, the start position is the same as the fire hydrant. Instead of raising your leg to the side, you kick it back. Go as high as you can. You should be raising your foot higher than your head. Hope it works for you and Good Luck!
I definitely agree with the lunges and hills, but I have one more thing to add: the wrestler's bridge. Most people don't think about this, but getting into and holding a bridge for as long as you can while breathing deeply(I do this a few times a day)helps with a lot of problem areas all at once. As a bonus, when I started doing these my "bra fat" (the little bit of bulge around a lot of women's bra in the back) just melted away in about 3 weeks! Good luck!
Take an indoor cycling class--it has done wonders for my behind.
Walk hills. Either increase your incline on the treadmill to at least 5. If you can maintain 13.5-15 do it and your tush will love you and you will love it. If you walk outside, find a neighborhood that has hills those incline build your butt muscle. I went from no butt to a great looking butt. As a matter of fact my butt is sore as we speak from hills yesterday.
Walk in parks, or on tracks and on stairs (even if they are in your home). This is cardio exercise too but it will firm up your behind as well. Good luck and God Bless.
