Hello! We will be adopting very soon and I am trying to find a newborn photographer who has really neat backdrops and props. I've seen some really cool ideas on Etsy, but they are never local photographers. Looking for some trendy damask backdrops maybe, baskets, strollers...I even saw a neat pic of the baby suspended in a blanket as if the stork just dropped him to earth!
Any ideas or experience with creative and awesome local photographers??

Melanie Johnson Photography is amazing! She's in Allen and very creative! She will do the suspension, baskets, stuff the baby in tiny crochet hats, etc. Think about vintage scales too. I think she has done that. Just tell her what you want, and she will make it happen. She puts the pics to a music slideshow that'll make you cry!! I cherish my photos from her!!

Hi There! I'd love to throw my name in the hat. So many photographers to choose from! I do photography of all types, but am starting to focus on maternity and newborns. We recently used Fancy Pants Fotos and absolutely loved them. They have so many props and their pictures are beautiful. If you check out their blog and FB page, you can see a recent shoot with an infant....just precious! They are also very affordable. They are $80 for 2 photographers for a 1-2 hour session. That includes a cd with edited photos. The women are very patient and are amazing with children since they have young ones of their own. I love LOVE love LOVE love LOVE love Portrait Innovations. They are a "chain" but they are not like any I had ever been to before. The camera was free standing not like at many studios, they have TONS of backgrounds, props ideas etc. You also get to go thru all 80+ photos they took right then and there, determine what you want to get (no packages the more you buy the less they cost) and you can go home with them that day! This is the BEST photography experience I have ever had and they are all over DFW the one I loved and frequented was in South Arlington in the Highlands near the Parks Mall. Cynthia of yourcandidmemories.com is wonderful with newborns! She has photographed my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter and her 3 month old sister. She came to my daughter's home and spent over 4 hours there in order to capture the right shots. She brings her props, baskets, hats, net, wraps. I think you will be pleased. Check out her website.
