I adopted a female adult Shih-tzu that has alot of tangles. Her top coat is manageable, but the rest needs work. I have been trying to salvage her length, but I am not getting the job done. I snip at tangles that I can't get out and brush and bathe her, but to no avail. I think she needs professional help! I live in South Arlington/Mansfield area. If you could recommend anyone I would greatly appreciate it. Also maybe one that is not extrememly expensive!

PetLove is a mobile groomer that we have used several times for our collie & boxer. We have been very happy with them, but I hate to tell you that grooming in general is not cheap. We spend over $200 each time to 2 baths, 2 nail trims and 1 all over trim for the collie. Especially with a long-haired dog like a shih tzu, it's going to be pricey, so just be ready for that!
My mom owns a dog grooming business in the Mansfield area called Muffin's. She was a full time business woman and now has followed her dream. She loves it and has a very established business. Well, I can't offer a groomer for your area but I can offer some help. I own a Shih-tzu also and their hair can be a nightmare. There is a product you should get -- called the Furminator or the Furbuster. They are the same thing just different manufacturers. It will definitely help with the tangles but it does take a little bit of time to do.
And, I keep my dog's hair on the shorter side. The long hair is just a mess. Good luck!
