Would like to ask if anyone knows any nice , clean campsites for families with teens and young kids. Have mainly stayed at KOA campgrounds , both tent and cabin camping in Astoria/ Seaside but wonder if there's any other campsites closer to my area, in Lake Oswego, Tualatin and within an hour radius.

What can I do next?

We love to go camping. One of our favorite places to go is to Milo McIver state park. It's out past Estacada, just a little past Carver. It's about 30 minutes away from SE and wouldn't be much farther for you, as there is access from I-205 or through Oregon City. You can also reserve your site online. They have a big dog run and they have frisbee golf there. It's a nice campground.

You may want to check out Champoeg State Park which is only about a half an hour drive from Lake Oswego. We haven't camped there yet but went on some great day hikes this winter with our two year old and it looks like it would be clean and comfortable with kids for camping.

Here's the website: http://www.oregonstateparks.org/park_113.php

Have fun!

There are several within an hours drive, I believe. Or real close to it. Champoeg Park is real close. You take the Donald/Aurora exit and there are signs... about 6-10 miles and you're there. I've camped there once, so far. We have small children and we went hiking and tried to catch frogs. There is also an interpretive center and the Jr. Ranger program. (And showers if your teens are anything like most that I know lol)

There is also that new one that just opened in Vernonia. I haven't been there yet, but its close too. If you go to www.oregonstateparks.org you can click on any section of Oregon that you'd like to camp and it'll bring up the state parks. The state parks usually have pretty good amenities, are clean and pretty nice.

Have fun camping this summer!

Detroit Lake is a little less than an hour and a half away and is a great place to camp. Nice water and nice campgrounds also has a playground.

You could look into Champoeg State Park. I've never camped there but have run on the trails. It's absolutely beautiful and I know they have camping available. It's off of the Newberg exit on I-5.
