I am going through a really rough time right now. We just moved to Colorado Springs about three weeks ago. My husband got a job working for a contractor. The problem is the air force and the contractor are at odds right now. The air force won't allocate the funds for the position, so basically to make a long story short, my husband has no job. He has been scrambling trying to find other avenues and its almost a dead end. Hey ladies, we support each other on this site and i am asking you mothers out there to pray for me and my family. The lord said where 2 0r 3 be gathered in his name there he will be in the midst. So please keep us in your prayers. Also, i am looking for a church to join. Its been some stressful times around here and i,m looking for a place of worship to fellowship. I love diversity in a church. So if you could recommend a place i would be grateful. Thanks E.

What can I do next?

Sorry to hear of your troubles...it's tuff times for a lot of people right now. I'd like to recommend our church Calvary United Methodist Church. It's located just east of Autin bluffs and Academy across the street from Burger King. We absolutely love it there. Service is Sun 8:30 contemporary and 11:00 for traditional.

Hi E.,
I will pray for you and your family! I also would like to invite you to our church - Rocky Mountain Calvary Church. We love God and His Word, know the body has to stick together, and would be delighted to have you visit and see if here is where you would like to be planted. Our services are Sat. night at 6:30pm, Sunday morning at 9:30 and 11, and Wed night at 7pm. We have a great children's ministry, many outreaches to the community and the world, and lots of support for young families. If you want to call me directly, my cell number is ###-###-####. What does your husband do? I have lots of friends doing contract work with the military and perhaps could get an "in" for him. My email is ____@____.com and would be happy to help in any way that I can. D.

E.,

I hoep that your husband can find something that works for your family soon. I would love to recommend The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints (also called Mormons). The LDS church is very welcoming to everyone and gives you such a sense of community and family. I had so many wonderful friends in the church that were always there to help and offer a prayer. Before we move to new mexico we attended the church on Meadowland Blvd., but if you look up listings in the phone book you can locate the church building nearest to where your family lives. My family and i have moved quite a few times and every time we've found fellowship and comfort from our extended church family. I will pray for your family and I hope things work out for you soon. Just have faith and perservere. With God all things are possible.

Im sorry to hear about the tough situation that your family is in. My family will be praying for you and yours. My family attends Rocky Mtn Calvary on North Academy. It is right by the intersection of Austin Bluffs and Academy. It is a great church to learn about the Bible. Everyone is welcome. Here is the website if you would like to look into it a little more. http://www.rmcalvary.org This is a tough time in the world, hang in there and God will do his part.

Hi E.. That's a very tough situation to have newly moved to a community, with a family to support, and then find yourself with (I assume) the primary breadwinner unemployed. I am so sad to hear about this hardship and I will keep you in my prayers.

I invite you to visit Journey Chapel, 505 Baptist Road. This is across the road from the south-most city limit of Monument. It's a very close-knit and inviting church. You can learn more about them here: www.journeychapel.org.

Good luck and blessings to you. I hope this hardship ends soon.

E., I am so sorry you are having so much trouble. I was wondering what your husband does/ what are his skills, and if he has a TS security clearance. If he does, and has computer skills, I may have another option for you here in the springs. My husband's company is looking to hire on several new employee's and it pays really well. Shoot me an note if you want to know more. This may be the answer to your prayers.

I also wanted to let you know about my church. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Otherwise known as Mormons. One thing that I really love about being a Mormon is that no matter where I go in the country or even in the world (and I have done both), the Church is always the same. It is based on the same principles that do not change just because I changed locations. If you would like to try it out I can help you find a meeting house in your neighborhood. Good luck, and we will all be praying for you!

Hi E.,

My family attends Woodmen Valley Chapel. We live in Monument and "church searched" for a year or so before attending WVC. We tried several (like 5 or 6) churches before going to a service at WVC. After the first service, my husband said, "I think this is it." We wondered if that first service was just a fluke. I can tell you it wasn't. We attended again the next week and never looked back. I couldn't get him to leave that church even if I wanted to (and I certainly don't). We have three daughters -- 16, 14, and 12 -- and they love it as well.

I will lift you and yours up in prayer. Hang in there! He's faithful and good!

L.
