Seeking Comfortable Maternity Underwear

I am in my 7th month of pregnancy and am having a hard time finding underwear that doesn't drive me nuts. I tried the basic bikini brief from Motherhood and they either roll down my belly and rub on my skin or ride up in the back. Does anyone have a brand or style they found comfortable? If so please let me know where you found them!! Thanks:)

What can I do next?

I loved GapBody underwear when I was pregnant, and even still now. The cotton is soft, yet supportive, and the elastic didn't cut into me. They cost about the same as it would at Victoria secret, but are a lot less tween like, and not at skimpy. It's a good balance of sexy and comfort. I usually chose the low-rise hipster in one size larger than I normally got. Congratulations!

I found some Matertinty Undies at Target a few years back. It was uglier than sin, but soooooo comfy. It was a cottony nylon meshy type (hard to describe) but so very comfy! My husband hates them! But I was so super comfy in them

Hi N.! I have to tell you that I love the Amon Maternity underwear. At first I wasn't sure if I would want my belly to be covered but even in the AZ summer heat I found it to be comforting. They have different styles but my favorite were the skivvies - a boyshort that doesn't show pantylines. They are having an anniversary special that ends today - buy 2 get 1 free! www.amonmaternity.com.

Hello this is gabriela and I would like to suggest that when I gained 100lbs. with my first son that I too had the same problem and well what I did that worked for me was going to Wal-Mart and getting underware that were a littler bigger than I would have on becuse I would put the elastic over the top of my belly and I would not have the ridding up in the back. Hope that this helps and congrats on your you newest member blesses be.

First, WAY TO GO on keeping the gender a surprise!!!! Yeah, I did that twice, but my husband insisted on knowing the 3rd.

So Maternity underwear: bikini type worked only with the 1st child when my tummy was tight and held baby in better. With subsequent pregnancies I switched to large, cotton undies, HI-CUT ONLY. They look like the 'barely there' brand but have more cotton. . So, so comfy, did not rise up in the back and I felt somewhat protected in the front.

In addition to Lane Bryant, there is another store called Avenue that carries large sizes.
Great place to pick up larger size everything you need right now.

Happy pushing!!
Jen

The only ones I found comfortable were Target's maternity underwear... all cotton and nice and stretchy!
Congrats on #2 bundle of joy!

I never, ever wore maternity underware during either of my pregnancies nor did I wear larger underware. I just wore my regular underware that I'd been wearing even before I got pregnant. I wore boy shorts, thongs, and bikins and just wore them below my belly.

Have you tried good ol' granny panties in a size or two larger than what you'd normally wear? That worked well for me. And they're inexpensive!

I just went up one size in the regular brand I was used to wearing and did not have to go the maternity route at all.
Best of luck:)

I second the Old Navy maternity undies. They were sooooo comfy and not "granny-like" at all.

I agree with Mandy. I bought regular old Hanes 1-2 sizes bigger than my normal size--and I got either full brief or hi-cut. It was just more comfy for me to have that layer of cotton between my belly and my itchy maternity pants!

I know what you mean. I ended up at Victoria's Secret (believe it or not). I bought the low rise to go under my belly (several different low rise to try, boy shorts, etc). They now carry XL which I needed (they didn't in my first pregnancy).
Good luck,

Hanky Panyky Thongs at Nordtrom. They are super low and actually provide support along the sides because they have a wide band. The best undies ever and cute too! A little pricey but worth it.

I wore Victoria's Secret low-rise thongs all through my pregnancy. They're all cotton, fit just under the belly and very comfortable.

I actually wore men's underwear (Hanes white briefs) during all my pregnancies.
They felt like they supported my lower belly a bit, the elestic was snug and wide enough not to roll down and they covered my tushy nicely without riding up anywhere.

I had the same problem with both my pregencies. For the second one I was little heavier before I even got pregnant. What worked for me was going to Lane Bryant (a plus size store) and getting enderwear that was at least a size bigger. They have a ton of different styles...but they can be pricy. Good luck.

I hated underwear that went on my belly (ie maternity underwear), so I wore regular bikini underwear that went below my belly.
