Seeking Compassionate Female OB/GYN in Frisco/Presby Plano/North Carrollton Area

Hello everyone! I am looking for a new female OB/GYN in the Frisco/Presby Plano/North Carrollton area. I really am wanting someone who is compassionate...the past year has been a very difficult one and I just need to find a professional who is also empathetic. I am also interested in a practice that runs appointments largely on time and doesn't have long wait times to schedule appointments...those were problems in my last doctor's office.
Any referrals would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much!
M.

I read on Frisco Online about Drs NOT to see. That may be a handy guide for you as you search: http://www.frisco-online.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=...

Also, I put the below post on Dr. JENNIFER CAMPBELL here:
http://www.mamasource.com/request/9285576323969843201

***********************
I unreservedly recommend Dr Jennifer Campbell - Plano Presby ###-###-####. I think she has a heart of gold and a brilliant doctor she is!
Let’s put it this way - left to my experience with her, I would want to stay pregnant almost all my life!!! Seriously!

www.nannyharmony.com/resources

She personally returns all calls (I don’t know how she manages that with how popular she is too!). She partners with you through your pregnancy, she treats you like she's known you forever. I use her as my one-source resource for anything medical - she provides the best referrals!!! I even still ask her parenting questions after 5 years :)
Despite my 26 hours of labour, I felt so much at peace and delivery was a breeze! My water had broken and most doctors will put not give me that much of a chance at natural birth. Dr. Campbell respected my faith and trusted along with me that the baby will come before her deadline of 5pm for a C-section. Baby came at 8am!!! She didn’t enforce epidural either. She said she will let me have it if I decided to have it whenever I wanted it until I started to push, at which time they will pull out the epidural… I understand most docs won’t let you have it after 4cm dilation!
She is very brilliant and confident and loving. Rare combo! My mom (a 45-year experienced nurse/midwife veteran) was there through out delivery and Dr. Campbell never felt threatened. They even shared thoughts on suggestions together!!! When mom suggested something that was too old school, Dr. Campbell gently directed me to the right course of action.

Also, an added perk, she has the greatest respect with Plano Presby nurses and other doctors so that gets passed on to her patients.

Weight - ok, I have friends that share woes of how their doc made them feel fat during pregnancy for gaining 30pounds. Dr. Campbell definitely does not pat your back and tell you to eat junk BUT I gained 80 pounds and she NEVER chastised me for it! She encouraged me to eat well like she does every patient but never made me feel like the elephant I already felt like! if anything, she told me not to worry as I would loose it. she encouraged me just to focus on eating right and balanced and exercising as much as I could handle.
In my 4th month, I developed an umbilical hernia and she encouraged me to cease all exercise so we can make it through the pregnancy before having to fix the hernia. she understood that meant weight gain but helped me make the right choices.
I have lost the weight now and I am glad I had a doc who empowered me emotionally which is what I needed most at the time. I did not need someone who made me scared of each appointment because of the scale. That could have resulted either in an unhealthy pregnancy because I would focus on weight alone OR it could have resulted in bad self esteem which would have ensnared me to the weight gain and I wouldn’t have been able to loose it now.

As you can tell, I am passionate about good things when I find one. Dr. Campbell is in that category! I have nothing to gain for referring you. You don’t even have to mention my name.

If you want a male doc, Dr Garner is in the same practice and I have coworkers and friends that see him and equally rave about him. If I wasn’t with Campbell, Garner will definitely be it!

Wish you all the best.

Dr. Katrina Walsh is the best! She offices out of Plano Medical Center and delivers as Plano Presby. She's extremely compassionate. She takes the time to listen to her patients and doesn't rush you through appointments. Her number is ###-###-####.

Craig Ranch OB-Gyn is located in McKinney/Frisco line off of 121... Dr. Shea Joyner has been my doctor for several years and she is WONDERFUL!!! Great bedside manner and has gone through a lot with me. I trust her with my life, she saved it when I was delivering my son!!!

It concerns me that someone posted how much they liked Dr Campbell and stated that they gave birth by the 5pm deadline she set. Does the person making that post not realize that ALL doctors give epidurals after 4cm, most won't give before 4cm. Plus, putting a woman on a deadline just because she wants to go home or has plans is a bad thing. You could have ended up with a c-sect just because you did not fit properly in to her dinner plans schedule? The deadline alone should have been a huge sign that Dr. Campbell was a bad doctor.

I very strongly disagree about Dr. Jennifer Campbell. She is horrible. My pregnancy was fine and great. I had no complications at all. Then suddenly, at 36 weeks pregnant, she said she wanted to schedule the birth. I begged her not to, but she made it clear she was not going to bend. There was no medical indication. She brought in her partner and they both informed me that all other pregnant women are excited to hold their new baby and I must not love my baby if I am not willing to allow them to schedule. They were ruthless and would not leave me alone. Finally, I went in to labor and delivery in tears from their threats. Remember, they even admitted there was no medical reason, it was just something they routinely did. And this was almost 4 weeks prior to my due date. Of course, things went poorly. I ended up in c-sect. My baby ended up sick. I never saw Dr. Campbell again. She sent some doctor I did not know in to do all my follow-ups at the hospital. When I got out and called for my postpartum appointment, she refused to do it. This is illegal. I did not know at the time it was illegal, otherwise, I would have filed a legal complaint against her. She also left my uterus damaged. I have had 7 miscarriages since leaving her despite never having a single one before. She is evil. I would never recommend her ever.

Do you need OB, or do you just need GYN? Dr. Kelli Jones is located out of Plano Medical Center. She is so wonderful, but gave up the OB part of her practice in order to spend more time with her family. Because there aren't so many emergencies with just GYN, they do tend to run more on time than an OB GYN office. If you do get pregnant, you can always switch over to her partner, Dr Thomas, who does OB, but he is a man. I went through her with infertility issues and for my regular exams. Anyway, the number is ###-###-####

Oh, I have *just* the person for you. Her name is Dr Deanah Jibril and she has offices at Presby Plano and I think she may have offices in Frisco as well. Her office # is ###-###-####. She is super, and you will really like her, she is so approachable. Her nursing and office staff are great too.

She delivered both my kids (including an emergency C section) and I just think she is great.
