Seeking Doc with GOOD Credentials and Holistic Approach, R./NDallas/Plan

Greetings,

I'm moving from Chicago to R. and am seeking a kids doc. We'll be coming from a LARGE practice, with REALLY good docs. I'll take my girl for an early 3 year old check up before we get to town.

Here's what I'm looking for - a doc who DOES NOT perscribe ON DEMAND and uses Antibotics as a last resort. They look to CURRENT research/data in pediatrics and are advisors and partners in my child's care. I tend to educate my self VERY well and ask ALOT of questions.

A Holistic approach looks toward the WHOLE person ,physical, nutritional, environmental, etc.

I'll want a consultation first (meet and talk) and I'm willing to drive a little for a doc who measures up. Any suggestions?

Also, if you know a family doc or internist who matches these criteria, we're looking for one too!

Hey there, firstly - early welcome to the area! Secondly, we use Dr. Tammy Kennedy, who is in the Highland Park/Park Cities area of Dallas. We live all the way in Plano, and don't mind driving the 40-ish minute trip to see her. She is patient, respectful of your own ideas, opinions and parenting ways, such as vaxing/non vaxing, breastfeeding, waiting to prescribe, etc...
Along with those (so called) alternative approaches, she is still highly mainstream in all the good ways.

Her info is:

Hi K. and welcome to Dallas! I've heard great things about Dr. Block though she's a little far from the R. area and a bit pricey. Check out her website at blockcenter.com, it's very informative. Also, since you're asking about holistic practitioners, if you're looking for a great chiropractor, I know the best in Dallas! He's in uptown on McKinney Ave. His name is Dr. H.. I don't know his website, but the office number is ###-###-####. Good luck with everything!

Hi K.,

I can't recommend Dr. Albert Karam highly enough! He's fabulous, knowledgable, kind, and truly cares about the children. He meets your antibiotic specifications. He is not, however, part of a large practice. He has separate well and sick waiting rooms, and an incredible staff. He has also won best pediatrician in Dallas, several years running!
###-###-#### - He is open M,T,W,Fri, and Sat, mornings. On Thursdays, if you need to have an appointment, you can see the other doctor. They rotate being on call for Saturdays. There is also a female doctor (now that my friend's daughter is a teenager, she wants to see the woman doctor for her check ups, but still wants to see Dr. Karam if she doesn't feel well).

Good luck!
S.
