Hello! I am a 27 yrs old new mom to a 6 mo. old girl. Since finding out I was pregnant some how all my friends disappeared. Im just looking for someone near by to meet up and chat with about baby stuff etc... My husband is in the Old Guard stationed at Ft. Myer and it would be nice to meet someone else who can relate to having a military wife lifestyle as well. Thank you for your time!

Hey! I'm not a military wife but am a first time mom to a 6 mo little girl too and recently I found an awesome moms' group in Springfield, VA. It's not very close to me (30 minutes away) because I live in MD but it's worth the drive!!!! The group meets the second Monday of every month for a themed dinner and there's usually a guest speaker on some type of parenting topic. Ladies sit in table groups and have time to discuss the speaker's topic and to get to know each other. I went for the first time in February and can't wait to go again next week! (Everyone was so friendly!)
The group is called MOPS (moms of preschoolers-but it's for all women of young children/babies) and meets the second Monday evening of each month at Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield, VA (many military families attend this church so I'm sure you'd meet military wives there). The next date is Monday, March 10 from 7pm-9pm. My husband watches my girl for me so I can go; I truly enjoyed it last month!!!!

I am the mother of a solider who is due to PCS to Ft. Myer in June. He has three children - 7, 4 and 1.5!! I have met many young mothers like yourself at the Ft. Belvoir chapel in the PWOC program. Let me know if you would like some names, etc. and if I can help.

I joined Momsclub.org. it's a national moms group. I live in Alexandria and belong to the Alexandria group. They are great and they do lots of fun things. Check it out! They are just about the only mommy friends I have. It's $25.00 a year which pays for a lunch I think they have once a year. But there are weekly playgroups at peoples homes, outings, mom's night out get togethers. I love it and have been a member for 2 years now. I hope you will try it!
