I am new to the area and have had one bad local experience so far. I would like to find a good, recommended OB GYN, preferrably female, in the Port St Lucie/Stuart/Ft Pierce area. My husband and I are wanting to start a family, but I want to find someone I can trust and feel comfortable with first.

I have used Women's Health Specialist for both my children and LOVE them. The midwives are wonderful and the doctors are great as well.

There's a office by the Treasure Coast Mall, and a branch in St Lucie West. They have flexible hours and lots of different doctors to chose from. It's called Womens Health Specialists. The majority of them will make you feel very comfortable. Here's their webite... www.whsfl.com
That's where I went for my pregnancy and I loved them. You have the choice of seeing the same doctor throughout or different doctors each time. I believe that whoever is on duty when you go into labor, will be the delivering doctor for your child. I personally went to almost all of the doctors and loved them. I would recommend Dr.Michaud @ the Womens Health Specialits by the treasure coast mall,she is very good,they have a few Dr's there,I my self just hade twins a boy and girl.The number for the facility is ###-###-####

I'm sure you'll get tons of opinions on this one!! Both Physicians To Women and Women's Health Specialists are good. I personally used Women's Health Specialists and was quite happy. Mind you, the doctor whom I had has quit OB and is now just GYN (Dr. Boland). However, for my two subsequent pregnancies, I used the midwives there, and they were EXCELLENT!!!! And the nice thing was, there were only 3 midwives, so you got to know each one. Best of luck to you - and my best advice, meet w/ a couple, and pick the one you like best!!!!
I recommend Physicians To Women, on Kanner Hwy in Stuart. They have OBGYN's and midwives. I went there when I was pregnant with my twins and they took such good care of me. You can request a female dr or midwive. They are really good people there.
