Im looking for a good hairdresser/stylist in the east suburbs. Someone who knows some of the more modern cuts and doesnt charge a gazillion dollars for a haircut !

I've been going to Salon de Renee in the Mcginnis Sisters Plaza in Monroeville for 7 yrs now. (I'd previously gone to a cheapo place in Penn Hills where the owner cut my long hair unevenly). Anyways, I love Renee, but if you can't get in with her, all her stylists are great.

I love Phillip Pelushi at the Monroeville Mall, the hairdresser I use is A.. She is really good, and it is pretty reasonable. And is very helpful with suggestions on new hairstyles.

Hi A.

I have been getting my haircut in town for the last 10 years at a very high end salon, paying that gazillion dollars. I am super picky! Like you, I decided I needed to cut back on the $200 hairstyle and looked for someone more local and reasonable. I found the greatest person in New Kensington. Still a little bit of a drive but worth it! She cahrges me $65 for cut and highlights! I was paying $65 for just a cut before. If you would like to check her out, her salon is called Pixie and the number is ###-###-####. Her name is Tina. Good luck! K.

I'm from the south hills so I don't know anyone in your area, but I would check out a local vo-tech for cosmetology or any cosmetology school. I went to cosmetology for three years and I still go back to my school for my hair cuts. They're very cheap, they keep up on current styles, and you really can't go wrong because there is always a teacher there to ensure that you get the cut you went in for. Why pay fifty dollars for a hair cut you can get for three bucks? Just a suggestion :) And if you ask for the student who's the closest to completing his or her hours then you're getting someone who's only a test away from being in one the salon's you'd go to anyways.
