My daughter and her family are coming out for a visit early next month. They will only be here for a few days but I would like to take them somewhere special or do something unique to the Broken Arrow or Tulsa area. The kids are 5 and 17 months. Any suggestions?

We had a great visit. We only did one "special" thing outside the home...we went to the Aquarium in Jenks. Both kids loved feeding the turtles and rays...especially the 5 year old. The rest of the time we spent at home, "going to the movies" (popcorn and a movie on Nana's bed; picnicing in the back yard and playing games on the wii. It waas a very memorable visit and we got some great pictures. Thanks for all the great suggestions.

Incredible Pizza would be a great place for the 5 year old. Might be kind of overwhelming for the little one though. The zoo is always great if you have good weather or the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks is great.
My 5 yo granddaughter's favorite thing is to go to the park. It is also free. The next best thing is Purple Glaze. She makes a great mess on the table (they don't mind) and brings home a unique ceramic creation a few days later. She loves to watch kids movies on grandma's lap, eating popcorn. She makes tents out of sheets and chairs and plays with her stuffed animals in them for hours in the dining room. She loves the Aquarium at Jenks. The baby won't need anything but grandma's love and attention. My advice is-don't get too fancy.
The Jenks Aquarium (a little pricey), La Fortune Park at 61st and Yale (free), the zoo and the science facility next to the zoo, Incredible Pizza, Chuckie Cheese.
I have a 4 year old. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law will be visiting from Alabama this weekend. A couple of things we plan to do are to visit Woolaroc and make something at Purple Glaze. The mountain man camp and the petting zoo will be open at Woolaroc next week. We like the zoo. If they're not from an area where there are many horses, visiting one of the stables could be fun.
I would think you want the grandchildren to remember their visit with grandma and not necessarily their visit to Tulsa. I would suggest doing something like Purple Glaze or something similar that is hands on and they leave with something that grandma has helped them make. I would also suggest just playing at home with them, kids don't need to be constantly on the go in order to have a great time with their grandma. My mother used to take my small girls to the park, to the dollar store, and what she called "to the movies". To the movies meant that they would rent a movie, all put on their pajamas and watch a movie in grandma's bed with some popcorn. This was a great treat for them and this is the one activity that they probably have the best memories of (my girls are 21, 16 and 14 now and still enjoy visiting my mother).
IF you have time I would go to the local libarty and check oput a book about what to do with kids in OK , I would also do a search on your computor for ideas. I know people on here have posted my ideas about the zoo. I also think we have a wonderful city wide garden.
