Initially we were looking for a Occupational Therapist in Tampa to assess wether or not my daughter has any Sensory Integrated issues. So thank you for all of your responses! However, through my research I found the Tridas Center in Tampa where they do an across the board type of assessment to see if there are any additional issues besides sensory integration disorder. They manage the whole child... I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences w/ the Tridas Center - good or bad - and if there are any other referrals anyone may have for other centers/Management Dr's like this in Tampa. I guess I am confused where to start to have my child fully assessed so that we get a plan together that best fits her needs. Our daughter may have a mild/regulator issue w/ movement. She is a sensory seeker !! I am currently reading the book Out of Sync Child and have found it very helpful. Any advice on where to start would be so appreciated! Any advice on not what to do would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again!!

My son is ADHD and we love Dr. Lilly at the Univ of South Florida's Division of Child Development. She is the Department Chief there and has a very remarkable reputation. ###-###-#### Don't be suprised if she is booked until June, though.

Hi K.-

My daughter sees Dr. Carnavale at the Tridas Center. We have been extremely happy and highly recommend the Tridas Center. We received valuable information which helped us gain insight as to how our daughter processes information. Dr. Carnavale was also aware of our time limitations (we have 2 other children) and designed a practical program that we have had success in following. The Tridas Center was also very helpful when we needed their input for school programs.

The Tridas Center is a financial commitment, but one that we thought was worth the expense. Several of our friends have also had wonderful experiences at the Tridas Center.

Good luck!

We have been taking our sons to Angie Hill at KidPro Therapy and really, really like her. Our twins both struggle with sensory integration, and one of them has an auditory processing disorder and ADHD-type behaviors as well. I'm also learning a lot about how food allergies can impact these areas of processing. I've started to seek information and advice to complement OT from Dr. Springer at LifeWorks in Clearwater.

A friend of mine works through the Hillsborough county program. It's a free service and it's done in your home. I could put you in contact with her. This sounds exactly like what she does.
