Hi - I am a full-time working mom, my husband just got deployed to Iraq for a year. We have a 20-month old energetic daughter who loves to run around and make new friends.
We have no family in the area, and I'm having a hard time trying to keep us both busy while my husband is gone - we both need to make some new friends in the area. Is there anyone else in a similiar situation, or something looking to set up some fun casual playdates some time?

Hello A., I to am looking for a playmate for my 2.5 year old son, we live in Eagan, due to my job(wfhm) and me attending school we don't get out much. so feel free to contact me if you would like to set up a playdate.

Hey, I have a 3 year old and a baby on the way and we are fairly new to the Twin cities area. I teach Children's Music classes which you might find enjoyable, but I also just want to make more friends so if you ever would like to just set up a play group time at my home and try it out, that would be fine!
My Business number is ###-###-#### Feel free to call me if you'd like to get together.
A.,
I'm also a military wife/mom and my husband just left on his second deployment in July. We have a 6 year old daughter who was 2 1/2 years old when he left on the last deployment. Our son just turned 2 and of course daddy missed that. We also don't have family in the area.
We live in south Minneapolis which isn't too far from Eagan but would love to do a play date with the kids. I've found it's hard to find other military families in the area since they are spread out a lot since their isn't a base and most guys are in the Reserve or National Guard. Also you might want to try the units FRG (Family Readiness Group) to see if they can help match you up with a 'battle buddy.' It's a good way to meet other families attached to your husband's unit.
Two things, first of all...have you heard of ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education)? They have great classes and programs usually through your local school district in which you can take your daughter to do activities AND meet with other parents. I have a daughter who will be 2 in December and could use a girl playmate. I have an 2 1/2 year old son and she always plays with him and all the boys but doesn't have a girl playmate! If you ever get in the St. Paul area, we could always have them get a chance to play together and I am always looking to meet new mom's too. I am more available on the weekends and my husband works opposite shifts so I am always looking for something to do as well. So keep us in mind!
