Has anyone had any luck selling jewlery back to a jewler or to one of those "mail your jewerly and get a check". I have rings that I would like to sell but want to take the steps to make the most I can.

What can I do next?

Do not mail your jewelry to one of those places!

I just sold some scrap gold and old pieces to a pawn shop over the weekend. The prices right now are outstanding!!!

I would call around and ask about prices at pawn shops and maybe some jewelry shops before making your final decision.

Good Luck!

I would not mail anything of value and expect fair payment.

We have not sold jewelry, however, we do collect coins and we have done business with Dallas Gold and Silver. They are fair.

I would recommend someplace like Dallas Gold and Silver exchange.

Good luck.

I heard on the news about a story related to selling gold/jewelry. The news segment recommended not selling your jewelry or gold to mail in type jewelers who promise to send you great money for your gold/jewelry. They recommended jewelry parties or local jewelers where you can stand there and show them what you have and you can see them weigh it in front of you. The mail in type places can get by because you aren't there and you don't know how much the jewlery weighs, so they give you a smaller amount, cause you don't what the jewelry/gold prices and what it is really worth, it is a scam, is what I have heard.

We've bought jewlery and sold jewlery at Kubes jewelers in Fort Worth. They are a family business and we've never had any problems with them. The one piece I did sell, I got a reasonable amount of money for it. They also made a suggestion for me make a necklace I didn't want anymore into a bracelet and ankle bracelet. I never even thought about doing that. I highly recommend Kubes Jewelers or even taking it to a few jewelry stores, local or chain ones and getting opinions/offers from several and then selling it to the place that gives you the most money for it.
