So my drain was backing up into my sink and on the floor from the washing machine. So I had Rotor Rooter come out and clean the drain. While he was cleaning the drain he came back with mud. So he said that I must have a broken pipe under the slab. I was told that I need them to come out and do a inspection with a camera in the lines. The price of this starts at $300, I have no idea how much this will end up costing. So any recommendations for a good reliable company to fix my problem or do I stay with Rotor Rooter?
I am a single mom with three kids one in college.
Thanks
Ok so after reading your replies and talking to my neighbor who does commercial construction. I first called Benjamin Franklin pluming because that is who my neighbor uses when he needs some pluming fixed. I payed $350 for the camera inspection and he came back in with an estimate on how much it was going to be said that it could be alot more than the estimate because he would not know for sure until they dug up the area to look at the pipe. The Estimate was $12,650 for a three foot section of pipe. He reassured me that they could finance the amount. I told him I would have to think about it and would call him back. I called Bakers Brothers on the phone they said that they would have to do another inspection with a camera and that would be $300 so I had them come out the next day. When he came out I told him i was just wanting a second opinion but to do the video inspection he ask me if I knew where the other company told me were the break was and I did so I showed him it was under my living room. he said that he did not need to do another inspection and gave me an estimate of $2000. I had them come out the next day and by noon they were finished with the job and the finial price was $1750. Would use Bakers brothers again in a heart beat. Such a huge price difference in the two company's for the same job. Thank you so much for your help.

We had a slab leak last year and had a couple of quotes before deciding on Justin's Plumbing. Here is the phone number, ###-###-####. He is very reliable and honest. You can tell him M. Parrish referred him to you from the work he did on my slab leak last year.
Good luck!

We paid $1,178 for a 2X3 peice of pipe to be replaced. They were able use a quick set concrete to fill on the foundation. They had to go in through the foundation. I am not sure if that inlcuded our inspection or not( i do not think it did).
Pricey yes, but they did an great job. Labor is very expensive and it took more than a half day for work. They requireed half payment to start work and the other half on completion(some jobs can last more than a days work if they need to let concrete cure).
Just an FYI......we had the exact thing happen to us with a similar company. They came out to do the inspection with a camera and they couldn't do it due to a "valve" in the line. We ended up never doing anything else about it. It has now been well over 6 mos and we have not had any other issues with our plumbing. All I am saying is that I would definitely get a second opinion before paying big money. Good luck!
We used Rodgers Plumbing for our slab leak ###-###-####. Keith was our plumber and we really liked him. It cost $1100. You will also have to repair your flooring after they fix the leak. I know it is stressful, good luck!
After re-reading your post, you should get a second opinion. A plumber should be able to tell if you have a leak without using a camera. They turn off your water and connect something to your faucet which can detect a leak. They can also sometimes tell by looking at your water meter. It cost us $110 to test the line. We knew we had a leak because we had a water spot on our wood floor that was spreading.
