First, where are you from would help big time. There are many things for a 1 1/2 to do but it depends on where you live.
There is gymboree, and then there are two places i know that host a sports activity for her age one @ total roller in wixom on wixom road called Lil Kickers and one @ Joe Dumars field house with the same program.

Email if you have any questions.

Try the community education programs in your area. Many times they have groups starting at 18 months. Also, my library story time group starts at 18 months. I also enjoy going to the play area at the local malls with my 18 month old. He can run and play and it is air conditioned! I don't really enjoy Lakeside's play area, plus it is always crowded. However, Eastland has a brand new really nice play area. The items are for young toddlers and it never seems to be too crowded! Good luck and God Bless!

Hi C.~
I have a 4 year old and 18 month old and both are HIGH energy kids. Here are some of the things they like to do (and it wears them out too).

Gymboree: This was already mentioned and it's something that we were involved with for 3 years....my son loved it. It's something fun to do together. We started just before he turned 1. I know there's one located in Rochester if you were interested in checking it out.

Swimming: Mine take swimming lessons and we also go the hartland school pool where there's an indoor splash pool for young kids. There's a big outdoor one in Troy and indoor too. Or even a kiddie pool at home.....

Indoor play areas at a mall like Great lakes Crossing or Novi Mall. Or a Jungle Java (farmington area I think) and Castaway Cafe (we go to the one in Howell).

One inside toy that is a hit here is an inflatable spaceship (I've seen a lot of different shapes beside this though) that's full of those plastic balls. I think ours is from Walmart....relatively inexpesive and it's gets a lot of use with 2 crazy kids rolling around in it.

Hope these suggestions help! :) K.

Check on Yahoo for a local mom's group that sets up playdates. Not only fun for your child but adult contact and conversation for you. :) I would suggest some I am in but I am downriver.

Are there any indoor play places near you? We take our boys to the Treehouse in Chelsea, It costs $12 for a full day pass (we can leave and come back later) I know it's a bit steep for a play place but it's VERY secure and I can sit drink coffee or take my laptop to do work while they play. The only problem is getting them to leave LOL!

I have found that when my kids start destroying things around the house, it's often when I'm not paying attention to them... consider trying to get down on the ground and play with your daughter... read books... Kinda hard for her to run around and destroy the place when she's playing with you.

umm...if you don't live to far away, there is always Hawk Island..my son is thirteen months old loves the water and the Splash pad is a great time for any kid that loves the water..Plan on getting wet because you will...It's a great time...it is free during the week the concession stand is reasonably priced like $2 and under for everything. And there is also the beach area that is nice to stay cool in while they dig with their beach toys..I am just about six months pregnant and I get SOOOOOOOOOOOO hot and the only way I can stand to be outside is if there is water so I take my son there like 3-4 times a week and he absolutely loves it. He gets so tired from playing outside for a few hours. I usually try to go every other day weather permitting that way he doesnt have a problem staying in for a day or so..Also I recommend going on ebay and finding a small pool for your own yard for him to play in but big enough you can sit in and keep cool as well..They have so many different types ones with umbrellas and others that have a variety of toys to play with...if you dont get one with an umbrella you could always buy an umbrella at like walmart or sams club. Good luck!!!!

She sounds so much like my daughter Ashley.By the way my Ashley is 3 and is still the same way..haha.. They offer little tumbling classes and stuff like that at Riley Gymnastics..There is also Gymboree..I am not sure in what area you live but look them up online..With Ashley I have to just let her go.Pick my battles.Because I would be going nuts if I did not.Thank god we do have a fenced in backyard. That is a life saver. We have a swingset and tons of toys out there. So we go out and she plays and mom sits on the lawn chair and watches.Plus my husband finally put a lock on the gate so she could not get out..You might also try taking her for walks. That does tire them out.I walk my two youngest up and down my street just to get them tired..Also limit junk food and juices..Also in my house I have a cetain room that has all the toys in it.I have baby locks on all my cupboards. So that helps too..

Other than what you were already told, I would also check out Gymco. http://www.gymco.com/
They have a class that includes parents and teaches coordination, turn taking, balance, and the sort. They offer a free class to try out. They also have open gym times weekly that are lots of fun. It is located off East Paris, south of Burton.
Best of luck with your little monkey!
