So I know that I was asking many questions in the last few weeks regarding my pregnancy and labour and etc etc etc. Well she is finally here. I was due on the 22nd Feb and she came six days late, just like her sister. It was the fastest labour - IN THE WORLD LOL. I was in labour with my first for 20 very long and hard hours so I expected to get away with maybe 10 hrs if I was lucky but from the first contraction to when she arrived was less than 2 hrs. I literally had just enough time to get to the hospital to be able to push her out - No drugs for me this time but I survived and we are all home and doing great
Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice over the past few weeks
In keeping with the purpose of this site..... Do you have a quick delivery story to share? Or a long one too LOL

CONGRATS!!! :-))
I know you are busy and tired but come on stats.....how big, eye color, hair color ???

The funniest labor story I have happened to a friend of mine. She went into labor with their second and had also just started a business a few months earlier. Well middle of the night she goes into labor and her hubby panics---'just stop it' 'just stop' 'You can't do this NOW --Who's gonna take care A --Who's gonna help me run the business -- now what am I gonna do -- you don't have to have that baby now just stop it!!!!!!!!!
She's in tears telling him I can't stop it --take me to the hospital ect. Reason won out and he got a hold of himself and now that baby is almost 21 and we laugh about it all the time. He's a great hubby and dad.

I had one quick delivery also --deliverd by paramedics.

Congratulations!!!

My first two were so overdue I ended up being induced. My third was 11 days over due when I went into labor in the early morning hours. From first contraction to delivery was 3 hours, I barely made it to the hospital. I didn't know if I was in labor for sure so I waited too long (I literally googled "how to know if you're in labor" - I think I was in denial). No drugs for me either, and to top it off, the baby broke my tailbone. It hurt soooooo bad!!!! I was screaming my head off, cussing at everybody. I was an animal. I was so embarassed!

Fastest I know personally wasn't me! I had a pretty normal birth. One of my godbrothers was born before the ambulance could get there. My godmother's water broke, and they had to turn around inside before they even got to the car, because she felt him crowining. My godfather called 911, and the 911 operator (or someone they fetched) walked him through the birth while paramedics were dispatched. M Jr. was wrapped in a blanket, nursing, umbilicle cord tied off with dental floss... before they arrived!

The longest one I know of my grandfather delivered. Religious folk who didn't believe in healthcare, but on day 4 sought medical help for mom. They baby had a disorder that caused his skull to be bigger than an adult skull. There was no way that he could have been born vaginally. The mother was AMAZING. Not many women could survive 4 days of hard labor. There wasn't any fudging with this. This family REALLY didn't like modern medicine (against their religion). The entire labor had been charted. Oy! 4 DAYS! I know of several others from school... these are almost always transverse babies trying to come out sideways. Kiddo! You won't FIT that way!

Congrats again!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Get some sleep!!!

Elayne was 12 hours - urgh.

Greg was born in 4 hours and 53 minutes from the time my water broke to the time he popped out.

Nicky was 3 hours and 33 minutes.

Elayne was fine. Greg was 6 weeks early. We knew this was going to happen as he was due May 10 and I went into labor 26 Jan. Bed rest...for 3 months. My best friend had flow in for my baby shower (it was a surprise - her coming). We were at home the next morning. I went to the bathroom and said - wow! that's the best pee I've had since being pregnant!! She said - your water broke. I said NAH!! I got 6 more weeks!! She said - YOUR WATER BROKE!! I said - I'll go take a shower...she came with me. the contractions started and while I was in the shower I was like "whoa" - 10 minutes apart. Got to the hospital at 8 minutes apart. And the rest was history!!

Same thing happened to me. The first was 18 hours of intense back labor. With the second my water broke at 4:24 AM and 30 seconds later I was in full active labor. I couldn't get off the toilet for the first 45 minutes or so and the toilet got back up so I had to step into the bathtub. My husband was breathing me through contractions and then trying to unclog the toilet. By the time that was done the birthing tub in our house was set up and I was in transition. It was a good thing we planned to have him at home because he would have been born at home regardless. It was Feb. 26 during a snowstorm and our midwife got stuck on the highway. She was coaching us over the phone. With 3 minutes to spare she got to our house, pulled on her gloves and delivered his head. His shoulders promptly got stuck and I had to stand up in the birthing tub so she could do the "Wood Screw Maneuver" (named after Dr. Wood) to get his shoulder off of my hip bone. And then, get this, we were expecting a girl according to our ultra-sound. Well, out comes this 8 lb 5 oz and 21.25 inch long boy!! About two hours later, I was cleaned up, the birthing tub was disassembled, the neighbor had taken our then 3 1/2 year old, and we were all alone in our house with our brand new baby. What a whirlwind :-)

Congrats Mama,enjoy.
Yes my second child came fast too. My first ,my son ,whose 4 now was a long drawn out process. I had no pain relief for a 35 hr labour.
My daughter is now 4 months. This time my waters broke and when I went to the hospital at 11pm they told my husband to go home as they would induce me in the morning as I had no pains.
At 12.45 am the pain was coming fast. At 1.20am I ask the midwife to check for dilatation. She said 4 cm and ring your husband to come in in the next hr or two. I said to her that the pain is too strong for 4cms.
5 mins later I felt a need to push and they had to run with me in a wheelchair to the delivery suite,
I jumped on the bed and opened my legs and the midwife said " you can push".
3 pushes and she was out. She was born at 1,33 am. So basically I was told at 1.20am I was 4 cm and she was born at 1.33am. No pain relief,no stitches, fantastic!
My poor hubby got a shock when I rang him to say that she was here.

Congrats again

I'm so happy for you!

I had long labors with both kids so I'm fascinated by quick labors.
I worked with a woman who told me that she just had one big cramp and there was the baby. I didn't think she was lying, but I also found it hard to believe. Her husband confirmed it one day. He said she didn't even have time to realize she was in labor, that kid just practically fell right out. It was her first baby, too.

Anyway, I'm just so glad all is well for you.
Best wishes.

Congrats! Yes, my husband almost missed the birth of our 2nd son. I had driven myself to the hospital because my husband had a work project to finish and we weren't sure if it was the real thing or not. I was walking with a friend who worked at the hospital during her lunch break. She left me in the gift store to go back to work and boom it hit me like a ton of bricks. I didn't know if I could make it back to L&D by myself! I stumbled back and called my husband to come NOW! The nurses couldn't find a doctor because the one on call was in a C-section and the back-up on call doctor wasn't responding. They called a doctor from the middle of an appointment with a patient from ACROSS THE STREET and he came flying in with a dress shirt and tie. He asked if he had time to change and the nurse said if you really hurry. He basically made it back in time to do the episiotomy, catch my son and stitch me up (wouldn't do the episiotomy thing again, but that's another story). My husband made it just in the nick of time to get my contacts stuff out of the car and help me get my contacts out. He had 5-10 min. to spare. I think it was about 45 minutes from "oh, wow" in the hospital gift store to meeting my new son. Congrats again!

Way to go.

I went for a check up and was three days late. Doctor checked and I was dilated to 5cm. He sent me to hospital and said he would be in to break my water. Water broke about 4pm and delivered baby at 5:45pm. No pain pills and no episiotomy. Took the hospital record for the fastest first birth. We went home in 5 days and that was short as the stay was usually 10 days (a Canadian hospital).

Enjoy your new bundle of joy.

Congrats!! Way to have that sweet baby in 2 hours!! That's fantastic!

My first was your standard 20 hour labor & delivery. My second came in 4 hours. Water broke at 3am and she was born at 7am. We waited at home for 1/2 hour before going to the hospital. Checked in etc. I wanted an epidural by 6 but decoded to wait until 6:30. I asked for it, she checked me and I was at 10 already! They had to call my doctor in right away. I had to pant to keep baby from coming and as soon as the doctor was there it was 2 pushes and she shot out like a cannon! I didn't even have time to get a delivery room. She was born in a tiny labor room!
