Shorts

I've found that the women's departments have longer shorts than the teen departments. My 13 yo granddaughter doesn't want to shop there so I bring shorts to her while she's in the teen section.

Girl or boy? Gap and Old Navy are selling a nice length this year for ladies shorts, 3 1/2", not too short and not too long. For men the style is longer, but they vary from 7" to 10".

If you look on Old Navy online, in the girls section, they have shorts, and they have shorts of all varying lengths.
If you look on and click on the girls shorts tab, there are "capri" or "bermudas" or "midis" length shorts.
And they are not short shorts.
Or, even in the Womens section of Old Navy, they have shorts of varying lengths, and anything about 5" in length is fine and not short short.

Yep! Right with you there. I have pretty good luck at Gap. I also have bought reasonable length shorts, still shorter than I would wear, but teen appropriate at Old Navy.

Eddie Bauer has cute 'cargo' hiking shorts.

My daughter gets a lot of mid thigh jean shorts at Justice. I don't go to a particular store, I just keep my eye out for them.

Gap, Old Navy, J Crew, Land's End, REI, Sport's Authority, JC Penney and probably Target and/or Walmart, to name a few.

Old Navy, although the pair I just bought there comes down below his knees...which I didn't realize and dislike! They do have a lot of just above the knee khaki styles, I always have good luck at Old Navy.

I just found a pair at Old Navy that were very flattering but longer than most.

Go to the boys or men's department. They usually have much longer shorts for their shorts period. Many of my modest friends only buy theirs from Walmart but in the men's department.

Thanks for your input. We found some we could both live with at Kohl's and American Eagle (in case anyone else is still looking.)
