Sittercity or SeekingSitters - Anyone Used These Services

Has anyone used Sittercity to find a babysitter? What about SeekingSitters? I'm thinking about signing up for one or both. I'm looking for a baby sitter I can use occasionally in the evenings, as well as full-time child care--preferably at someone's house that is caring for another child.

What can I do next?

My daughter cries when the sitters from Seeking Sitters walk out the door. I've used them several times and each time, except once, we got the same sitter. Their sitters bring a backpack full of toys and craft and make sure that your children aren't watching tv...that they're engaged and happy. My home was tidy when I returned (which shocked me). I would definitely recommend Seeking Sitters to anyone who needs a safe/reliable sitter.

J.,

I"ve used sittercity before, and I've got mixed feelings about it. I found a very good sitter on that site, but I learned through a few sitter interviews that that site sells your posts and gives out your personal information. I was not expecting to get that kind of an experience with a site that you had to pay for to post wanted ads and I was very displeased. Just be cautious and good luck finding a good sitter for your little ones!

I don't like the idea of having to pay for referrals...

I tried one time to use SeekSitters to come in every friday so I could work from home. The day we scheduled, she didn't show up. I called the owner and she said I didn't reserve that day or something. She ended up refusing my business because I was difficult to work with. Hmmm...seems like they were the ones that were difficult to work with........the sitter never showed!!

Hi there, I work for seeking sitters. I have been a full time nanny, and even worked with Oklahoma foster children. Seeking sitters can be a little expensive but I really think that you get what you pay for. You will get a professional babysitter who has a current background check, CPR and first aid certification AND... you can book and pay online. What can be better than that! My suggestion is to try it out for a short day and see how you like it. Good luck!
