I am so ashamed, I can't believe I ask this. Do you have any experience dealing with dark underarm? My hubby asked me why it is dark, ughhh...he is nice enough that he didn't bring this issue twice.
FyI: i have never use deodorant, I rarely use tight clothing, my body weight is average, no excessive sweating, i dont drink the contraception pills. So, Idk why.
Any good things to do? I do scrub it once a week, but it still there.
Btw, how to delete this question? I will delete it once I got the answers. Husband likes to borrow my tablet, and for this mamapedia, I use his gmail account( I know, so stupid,,but I also didn't think that I will ever ask this question) .
Thanks.

I have fair skin and naturally dark hair. So even after I shave it still looks dark under my armpits! Ughhh I hate it! It's not the skin though in my case it's the dark roots of the hair that show through. Gross.
But the only thing I can do is avoid reaching up to the sky LOL.
It wouldn't be a bad idea to use deodorant, I mean not just for hygiene purposes, but the solid kind might help conceal some of the darkness.
You could try an exfoliater and scrub every time you take a shower to remove the dead skin cells and hopefully the dark layer of skin.

I'm not sure what it is, but this is *exactly* where you should be asking this type of question! No shame, E..

One of my friends experienced darkened skin in her armpits while pregnant. I can't recall the name of it, but apparently many women get it. Are you referring to your armpits? Any chance you're pregnant? Maybe if you give us a little more information, someone might know what it is. Has it always been dark, or just recently gone dark? If so, how long ago? Is it under both arms, or just one?

PS- you can get your own gmail account for free - there are easy to follow steps on the gmail.com website.

No need for embaressment -- you can try hydrogen peroxide on a cloth or cotton ball used every day. This will probably lighten up the skin.

Well, I have 7 sibiling in my family and we are all from the same caucasion father and mother. BUT.. My sister and and my brother both have darker underarms. The reason we have been told is because we have black family history somewhere down the line on my Fathers side and it is manafesting in the underarms. My sister and same brother also get a thing called Keyloids (sp?) where your scare tissue multiplies and leaves a thick amount of skin where you are healing from a wound or surgery. This also runs mostly in Black/Aftrican American people. You might want to check out your family history and see if your family line might have some of that heritage in you. I think it is kind neat to see how our genetics play such a huge roll in all things. I'm sure there is nothing wrong with you, so no worries. If you are so concerned though go ask your doctor, I'm sure he will know. Good luck!
