Sleeping Bra Recommendations

Ladies! I'm 8 weeks pregnant and my "chesticles" are KILLING ME. During the day I'm fine, because the bras I have are great. However, I can't wear them to bed because they have underwires, and I don't want to stretch them out. I plan to go to the mall tomorrow to look for some sleeping bras. A friend of mine recommended getting a nursing bra, but I have no idea where to start. Can you give me some recommendations? If it matters, I'm 38DD, but of course, I'm sure they'll be big enough to sit on before long.

Thank you!!

What can I do next?

I hear ya! I am big busted as well (36H) and couldn't find a supportive enough sleep bra. The one I tried from Bravado they flopped over the bottom band. I have been using my old yoga tops with the little bra thing in there and also some tighter fitting tank tops under my pj's. Works great and I didn't have to buy anything!

I found a nursing bra at Walmart that is SUPER comfortable to sleep in. It's NOT underwire... I think walmart only really has the 2, the one that comes in a 2 pack of white ones with lace, or the gray ones. It's the gray ones with the fat strap that are super comfy!!! I think they are only like $5.00-10.00 too. You might also try a sports bra instead..

Big enough to sit on.....that made me laugh! I'm a 36DD and I definitely recommend you going to a maternity store to get a nursing bra. The big box stores won't have as much of a selection, and you may not be able to try it on. I got mine from Motherhood Maternity. Also, if you have a specialty bra store near by, go there. (There's one called "The Fitting Touch" here in our city.)The salespeople will be much more knowledgeable about your needs and will be able to recommend just the right thing. You might pay more there, but it will be worth it, especially since it will be something you need for the remainder of your pregnancy and after baby's birth.

I'm the same size as you, and I often wear a *leisure* (!!!) type bra for sleeping just because I like things to stay fairly geographically to where they should--haha.
Here's O. at Sears similar to what I have:

At a Maternity shop, they will measure you and give you great information.

A nursing bra is a god way to have that support without all of the wires.

I often sleep in underwires. They still last for 5-6 years "new", and then start to lose it on the 6th/7th year.

My other fav, is a new find. It's an underwire "tankini" from Norm Thompson. My mum gave it to me some time ago, but even when I was thin I had issues with my stomach, so I never swam in it. It's not the right size for me (38ddd is mine, it's a 40d) but it is my FAVORITE new thing to sleep in. Girls stay where they belong, and I can get out of bed not looking like I weigh 60lbs more than I do / hurting because of the dangling participles.

When I'm on a weightloss kick, I wear a sports bra (underwire) to bed. Partly because the only way to get me to exercise in the morning is to already be in my gym clothes, and partly because it helps the skin recover as I'm shedding inches. ((My fav is the 'Cuz She Says So' from Title9. They also have non-underwire models))

And warning... as you said 'big enough to sit on'... by the time my son was born I was a J+, slowly came back down to a DDD by the time I was finished nursing. So don't drop a bunch of money.

I just used a sports bra. I tried to use the nursing bra from motherhood but when I was on my back they would slip to the sides, but I got the size they told me to get.

nursing bras are really comfortable -- just go to a maternity store. They will have them.

Motherhood maternity had wireless, seamless bras. At one point they were in colors too.

I found that the nursing bra didn't give me enough support because I was IN PAIN. I went with a sports bra while I slept and after I had my son I then went to the nursing bra. You can look at Motherhood Maternity for bra's (they'll measure you), but I'm not sure how large their sizes go ;)

I was a 36 dd when pregnant. I couldn't sleep when I was pregnant w/o some support, too (usually I'm fine w/o any bra while sleeping) I just used a not-so-tight sports bra when I slept.

go with a nursing bra, they are expensive but, they are worth it, wal mart has them, if you know where to look, dont go with the fancy, lacy ones because they may irritate your skin.
