it may be due to something she ate or what ever you are washing her clothes in or she may be allergic to something however research this and if it is not seeming to heal take her to her dr. J.
I have a 5 1/2 month old baby girl who has developed small bumps all over her head and spreading down her forehead and face. These have just come up in the last week or so. it is not baby acne like she had when she was a newborn. they are not like pimples or white heads. they don't seem to bother her but i wondered what i could do to help them go away. it is not like cradle cap that i've seen (flaky skin). Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

Hi,
it could be egzema..or however you spell it....i have 4 kids and 2 have it...The doc treats it with a steriod cream for 5 days and it goes away..also inbetween i use aveeno products..they are a little pricy but worth the money....
hope this helps,
M.
My daughter, who is now 5, developed little bumps all over her head and face when she was between 4 and 6 months. When my grandmother seen her she said they were a type of hives and that my mother and I had both had them as infants. She said she had given us catnip tea. So I gave my daughter 4-6 oz. of catnip tea twice a day and soon she started clearing up.
Hope this information helps you.

Maybe it is a heat rash? The best thing your can do is ask you pediatrician. I probably drive mine crazy, but that is what he gets paid the big bucks for!
I was going to say the same thing as Colleen. It sounds like it could be eczema. My son has eczema and we use cortizone cream, but with a baby less than six months old, I would ask your pediatrician what it might be first.

Did you change your laundry soap? or use a new baby wash?
If not I would take her to the DR and he could tell you what it is.
I was 30 when i had my frist child and now he is 35 yrs old and in the army.
It is ok mom all new moms get scared at some time or another..
take care and let me know how your baby is doing.

Hi R.,
My little boy experienced the same thing, in the same region of the body. It turned out that he had eczema caused from food allergies (wheat and soy)and thats why the bumps were on his face.
In addition to regulating our diets, our doctor told us to put a thin layer of cortizone cream (check with doctor to see if a baby under 6 months can use cortizone) , followed by a layer of Lubriderm on him at least twice a day. She also recommended abreviated baths with a mild soap (Dove for sensitive skin).
That being said, I get the same thing on my face but not from food allergies. I have an allergy to the fragrance and dye in detergents and fabric softners. So I have to use the All brand for sensitive skin and the Downy for sensitive skin.
Good Luck!
Sincerely,
M.
my mom gave my, now 27yo son, a small dose of "catnip tea". Highly deluted with water. cleared his skin in a day or so.
Hello R. W:
Organic virgin coconut oil can be used. You can get it at a health food store. it will melt in your hand.
Also, older generations used to wipe the babies face with the babies urine diaper. (Actually the urine is excess vitamins.
Let me know how this works for you

Hi R.,
That kinda sounds like what happened with my baby. One day we were changing her and saw rash like bumps all over her. We took her to the dct and it ended up being eczema. Also, if you've introduced new foods to her she may have some reaction to it.
I'd make a dct appt just to get it checked out. Good Luck
Are they little red bumps? If so, sounds like roseola or fifth's disease...but that usually starts on the trunk of the body. My little girl had chicken pox even though she has been vaccinated and it started on her head. They looked like little yellow pus filled bumps and they started in her scalp. It was a really mild case because of the vaccine but I almost missed it because I never would have thought that's what it was. They really don't do anythin at the doctor for either of those, it just has to run it's course.(Not that I wouldn't go!) Hope this helps?
C., also a sahm.
My friends baby had something similar and the pediatrician gave her a mild steroid cream and it cleared up in a few days.
It could be a viral rash. My son had Scarlett Fever last year. It is actually a form of strep throat where you get a rash w/ the sore throat. Have it looked at by a doc. I think there are several viruses that can cause a rash.
Do you think she might be allergic to something? We all use so many different products these days. It could be something in her shampoo, your laundry detergent, etc. All these things that we use today can actually be causing us more harm than good.
Chlorine bleach is really bad. It was invented by our military as a neuro-toxin. We dilute it and use it in our homes thinking it helps. Green peace has been actively trying to phase out Chlorine Bleach from the store shelves.
If you are interested in using safe, non toxic cleaning products and/or personal care products, let me know. I would be more than happy to share what I have learned with you.
Hey R.,
It might be a manifestation of allergies. It could be something she ate, or it could be from the pollen in the air right now. I know it's driving me crazy. I would call your doctor's office and talk to the nurse about it, or call the health advisor at your health insurance office. They'll probably be able to help you figure out if you should take her in to get treated, or just treat her with something over-the-counter.
Good luck!

Hi R.,
It could be the soaps and lotions you are using. Arbonne has a line for babies that is awesome. It is botanically based and all the ingredients are beneficial for your daughters skin. Especially if it ends up being eczema. I have a tesimonial letter from a doctor who recomends it to his patients before prescribing medication. I also have a close friend who was able to get her daughter off the prescription medication for her eczema just by using the ABC body wash and lotion. I am a consultant so contact me if you would like more information.
God bless,
L.
It could be eczema like my son's have or it could be a rash from something like the rotavirus. My baby recently got it
(it causes vomitting and dirreah) and he broke out with a rash in the last week of it and the doctor told me it was from the virus. If you baby has been sick it could be from that.Either way it's best to take her to the doctor.
Hi R.,
Anytime my children have any problems, I always begin with their diet. Is your baby breastfed or bottlefed? Also, I would use a clean warm washcloth to wipe her face each time you feed her, and keep it handy while she is eating to make sure that anything that gets on her face is immediately wiped off. Skin problems usually mean that there are toxins in the blood, and they need to be cleaned out. Many times, our skin manifests what is going on in the body. It sounds worse than it really is, but there are things you can do. If you take her to a doctor, please try to keep her from being on an antihistamine. This will only clog the pores even more.
You can give your baby Vitamin E (100 IU) by mouth. You can simply buy the gel caps at Wal-mart or a pharmacy, prick the cap, and squeeze this into her mouth once a day. You could also use the E externally on her skin, starting lightly and increasing as YOU feel comfortable. Are her diapers (both ways) normal?? HTH!!
