So I Took the Photos...

For anyone who read my post yesterday, I took the photos last night.

They didn't turn out too bad, although I didn't get nearly as many good ones as I had hoped. Interestingly, I was not displeased with the photos so much because I was being critical of myself (which is odd), but moreso because the quality of the pictures overall was just not what I apsire to. I had crappy circumstances to work in... no good backdrop, lousy lighting, and no photographer! It really sucked to have to try to focus the camera, jump in the shot, get up to look at the picture, and do that like 20 times to get one pose accomplished. I wasted a ton of time just getting the shots framed right since I couldn't exactly judge where I needed to place myself to get a good shot. I did use a stuffed toy to focus the camera, but it was still hard to get into just the right spot... I will have some cropping to do! It would have been SOOOO much easier if there was someone there to actually hold the camera and do the shooting... but alas, I did get about 10 decent photos that I'm ok with. And when I convert them to black and white, some of the lighting issues will not be so apparent. I am thinking that if I can squeeze in another photo shoot this weekend, I might try to concoct an all black backdrop which I generally prefer for indoor/studio type photos, and try to get a few more good/better shots... but we'll see... it's so darned labor intensive, doing it all yourself!!! I need a photog!!!

Thank all you ladies who gave some great ideas and advice for my photo shoot!!

Anyhow, I was thinking that instead of a book of prints, I will put the photos into a DVD slide show (thanks Rachel!), which I"ve done before, so that shouldn't be too much trouble... but here's my current dilemma...

I need a good song to use as the backround music... My guy likes country music pretty much exclusively, so it has to be a country song... and I was hoping to use something kind of sexy... We don't have any songs that are particularly meaningful to us, so no issue there... just trying to come up with a country song that has a sexy feel to it... Any suggestions??

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I do have 2 people I'd trust to take the photos, and would probably have a lot of fun with, but they are so busy, and have kids, so scheduling at this late date would probably be a problem...

Yeah, I second Lucky's comment; Keep us updated!!! Can't wait to find out how he liked it. I get the feeling you are going to floor him.

As for your "frameing the shot" issue, use a pillow, a long one if you have it, to stage your frame. Once you have the pillow where you want it it should be quick to move it out of the way to get into the shot before the shutter goes off.

Good luck and have fun!!

Any chance you have a really close friend who would be willing to take the pictures for you? I know it sounds a little strange, but if your BFF could come over and help, it may be a little easier.

As for country songs... Tim McGraw "I Know How to Love You Well";
Dierks Bentley "I wanna make you close your eyes"; Billy Currington "I Must Be Doing Something Right" (personal favorite)
