Son Keep Getting Bit by Mysterious Bugs!

My son got quite a few bug bites on his leg a few weeks ago that swelled up. We noticed them that night after daycare. We took him to the doctor and the doctor thought they could be spider bites. The next Saturday, he had a couple more bites. We combed through his bed and found a teeny tiny spider that we got rid of. He was fine for a week but the bites are very slow to heal. He got bit again on his chest and ankle a couple of days ago and we went through his room again, changed the sheets, vacuumed everything, cleaned and disinfected. Tonight we found a few more bites on his chest and on the small of his back. We can't seem to figure out what is biting him! We didn't see any bugs, no fleas, nothing other than that one spider in his room. No one else in the house is getting bit. We've had a lot of boxes in the house because we are moving so we thought maybe it could be bugs on those boxes. But we can't find anything. We can't narrow it down to daycare or our house. Anyone have any ideas?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well, the doctor said it was fleas and we didn't see any evidence of them. We took precautions though. The (indoor) cat went to the vet and got flea medicine, we got a spray for the new house. Once we moved, no more bites. When we were cleaning the apartment, I found a flea! So luckily, we have solved the problem. Too bad we had to move to do it! :)

It could be bed bugs or baby spiders. I have had them on me. I now stripe everything about once a month during the summer. I pour baking soda on the mattress and rubb it in then vaccumm the mattress. I vaccumm the every side and under the bed. All the bedding gets washed too. My daughters swell up like that its there way of protecting and healing. Hydrogen Peroxide helps me some they itch for a long time too.

Spider bites are a bother. I was told to spray a little mouth wash in the corners of the room the smell makes them go away. Sound different... But it worked!

Probably bed bugs. They are making a big comeback. You might never see them..they could be hiding in other areas of his room not just the bed. You should research them on the internet. The bites are very itchy and don't go away for awhile. Try to stop the itching with rubbing alcohol or something so they won't leave scars. Sorry...Good luck!

I just read about this. there is something that you can buy that's kind of like a big "bag" for your bed that protects you from any little bed begs living inside the mattress. Plus it snuffs them out for the lack of air and oxygen. The website was something like www.protectyourbed.com (but dont quote me, I'm going on memory here). Good luck.
Hey I just found that article I was talking about. The website is www.bedbugcentral.com and the product is called Protect-a-bed. Hope this helps.
