Souvenirs for Preschoolers from Hawaii

There are 18 kids in my daughter's preschool class besides her - many of them, if they happen to go on vacation, bring back a little souvenir for each of their classmates. A couple of kids have been to Florida this year, and one brought back seashells so each of the kids got a little bag with 3 small seashells in it. Another kid brought back shark teeth to share with everyone. So we are planning a trip to Hawaii next month and I was wondering what I could possibly bring back for her friends. Obviously they would have to be small enough to easily pack up and bring back in our luggage on the plane, and relatively cheap. I did think about fake flower leis for the girls and little "tiki god" necklaces for the boys - does anyone else have any other ideas? TIA!

ETA: Did find some hibiscus flower hair clips from Oriental Trading! At least they LOOK Hawaiian! And they are super-cheap! :)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

@ Theresa N. - thanks for the link! They actually have shell necklaces for only a dollar each, and it's less if you buy a dozen! I wouldn't even have to actually go there - I could just order them! :D

@S.H. - it's actually a cruise, we are spending 1 day/night each at a different island (4 total). Not sure how much time we'll have just for shopping and exploring on our own, we have some excursions planned (tours of the Arizona Memorial, etc.).

You did not say what Island you are going to.
But, in Waikiki, there are SO many "tourist" shops that have small trinkets.
And there are often sales.
Think of a budget that you want to spend, then times that by 18.
That can be a chunk of money.

There are things like:
magnets
pencils
tiki necklaces as you said
erasers
nail files
those flower leis
soaps
stickers
Hawaiian Calendars (which is cheap). My in-laws bought some from "Long's" stores, that were only like $1 a piece and it was a nice Hawaiian photo calendar. It was on sale.
Shell Leis. Which yes, can be on sale for cheap.

The thing is, you gotta buy 18 of these souvenirs. Be prepared to spend about $4-5 bucks, for 1 thing.
Unless, you shop around, and find those flower leis and Tiki necklaces, for less money.
My In-Laws, bought a Tiki figurine, again from a "Long's" store that was about $4.00 for one.

Or, you can buy, Hawaiian chocolates.... in a bag, that is individually wrapped.

And, you don't want to buy something, a souvenir, that will just be thrown away or considered to be "dust collectors." Because, it all costs money.

Found this website by googling 'cheap souvenirs from Hawaii' or something to that effect.

You could collect sand and a shell for each child. put in zip lock bags or small jars.

A lot of stores sell (or give away) the shell leis that would be suitable for both boys and girls. Enjoy Hawaii. It's so beautiful.
