Hi. Has anyone been to Spencer Beach/Park recently and would you recommend getting a season pass? I have 2 girls 3 1/2 & 14 months, would they enjoy it?

The play set was new a couple of years ago and is very good. Lifeguards watch the water and there is a separate roped off shallow area for smaller kids. Bring a sunshade and sun cream though! There is also a snack bar and ice cream stand which is handy, restrooms and changing rooms. It can get a little busy at the weekends and sometimes there are camps there but since you would be at the smaller kids section that should not be a problem! Enjoy your summer....

E.,

If your children like the beach, water, picnics and play structures then I would definitely get a pass. We went there for the firs tt ime last summer at the end and wish we had found out about it at the beginning of the summer! Clean beach and play area. reasonably prices concessions. We will be getting a pass this year!

I love Spencer. There's a ton of stuff for kids to do and the beach is well-maintained and staffed. Maybe a little biased as my son and his girlfriend are lifeguards there :-)

Hi E.,
I'm originally from FL, so for me it's really hard to say it is a "nice beach". But, I do enjoy taking my son there. He is now 7, but when he was younger I was still comfortable taking him there because they have a roped off section that is not very deep. I would recommend it especially if you have 2 and they don't swim. It makes it a lot easier. A good friend of mine has 3 young children and there have been times she and I would take all 4 of our kids by ourselves. Also, if they enjoy the playground, it's literally right there on the beach, as well as the restrooms and a consession stand. It's very easy to move back and fourth between the areas. (Without having to drag the kids very far.)
You should at least take a drive and check it out.
Hope this helps,
E.
