Spilling the beans...JFF

I have been contemplating on posting a profile pic and sharing some details about myself, but I am SO hesitant. This is the place I come to complain about my horrible neighbors, a friend that I got railed about being flakey with, lame homeroom moms...the personal (rants/rags/vents/support) things you don't normally offer up! I would hate if someone I didn't care for and was ragging about on here saw my posts. Some things are better left unsaid in real life, ya know?!

I like to put a face with the posts, I love it when YOU ladies have profile pics :)

Is anyone with me on not wanting their identity be revealed on here?

What can I do next?

Ladies, my motto is "keep it real", but c'mon...in REAL life we tend to use more tact, or at least most of us do :) I tend to let my hair down when it comes to venting on here. It's MY place to be free of BS!

There is a mom from my sons old class that would come on here and she asked about why I thought the schools curriculumn was so weak and repeated a couple things I said in a post! It completed freaked me out and I changed my username after that! This is not something I wanted to discuss with anyone at the school. I just wanted to finish the year and be on my merry way!

Eh, I am who I am, even over the electronic fence. Don't feel a need to hide, you know?

And I LOVE seeing profile pix.

No....I've got nothing to hide.

I wouldn't say anything on here that I wouldn't say to your face. That's me...bold, blunt, assertive....

P.S. - love the pic!! What a cute daughter!

I am ok with posting pics of my kids, but not of myself or my husband. I am afraid one of my friends, family members, or my hubby's patients might recognize us...no need for that. I like the anonymity of this site.

ETA: I don't need friends or family listening to me talk about my kids' behavioral problems, my suspicion that one of my kids might have ADHD, occasional complaints about my hubby, or vents about family/friends.

It is what it is, if someone I know sees my pic I'm sure they'll call me on the phone and say "wow, really?"

i recommend this site to too many people. If i felt comfortable talking about their gential herpes and how i think they are raising monkies and that their sister's special tatoos are soo ugly, then i guess i would just talk to them and not spread it all over the internet.
I like seeing profile picts but i think you ladies are crazy:)

I wouldn't put anything on here that I wouldn't say (or have already said) to someone's face. If they want to be mad about it, whatever. I'll take my chances, I love my mamapedia, and yes, I have a profile pic up!!

I am glad not to have to post a pic only from the point of view that I don't want someone to see us out and about and strike up a conversation about something that I am not comfortable with discussing face to face though we may have discussed it at length here

see my name???? So not my real name. I have vented too. Sometimes we have to or we will go insane! Put a pic of your mani or pedi. Something kinda personal but not identifyable if you know what I mean.

I agree that remaining annomous has it's advantages. Personally, I don't post a picture. However, I think a brief general description is a good idea. It helps the mamas know you a little better, but if your neighbors, friends are members of the site, they can't be 100% sure its you.

I vent too much about my crazy in-laws to show my face. I try to keep the peace in real life, but sometimes I just need to let it all out. Not that any of them would ever come to a website about being a better parent. They already know everything there is to know about everything. <<eye roll>>

Absolutely I agree with being anonymous! Most of my posts & comments that I leave are something that I'd be fine with people knowing it was me but I want to reserve the option in case I need to bring up something sensitive. I was about to do just that a while back, and that's when I changed my name on this site. The situation resolved itself (well enough) before I had a chance to formulate a decent query post. So no profile pix from me, of my family nor my pets, who are so very high profile in the community they'd give me away ;-)
Cheers to all.
