Splashtown in Spring TX

I am thinking about getting a splashtown season pass for myself so that I can bring my two year old (two and under free). Is it worth it? I haven't been in years and was wondering if there are designated areas for toddlers, and how clean the park is. We have a neighborhood pool but it cost about $150 to join and isn't really that toddler friendly.

Also what are the best times to go (I hate crowds but know that I won't be able to avoid them completely)?

Are there any play groups that meet up there?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks Ladies, Your answers really helped me finalize my decision . Looks like I am going to hold off until my little one is a little more independent, and a stronger swimmer :)

The YMCA near us on 249 is wonderful, with a great children's pool and "beach", you might be better off joining for the summer there. I think Splashtown is too big for your little one and has some potential concerns about drinking the water, too many people, kids diaper leaks, you'd be holding her the whole time, etc.

Good luck checking out the Y

There's 2 small children's areas next to each other. Now I haven't been there in 2 years (my kids have filled their summers with other stuff and it wouldn't be cost efficient) but they LOVED splashtown for years. If you get there right at 10 am when they open, it's less crowded. By Noon, it's getting crowded and by 2 it's PACKED. If you wait till 4, it's only crowded again and by 5 it's not so bad. Just depends on your child's nap schedule. You WILL have to watch them every minute - too much stuff going on and it's teens that are the lifeguards (not saying they don't pay attention, but I have 2 teens myself). Since I haven't been there in 2 years, can't say what the condition of the equipment is or how clean it is anymore.....sorry. It is better to go WITH another family so you don't have to haul the kids to the potty when you go - they CAN wonder off from their area - no gates or fences.....

My friend and I took our almost 2 year olds there last summer. It was hard work really. They couldn't do anything by themselves and we had to carry them through the water, which was too deep. Sometimes we would bring toys for them and that was better, but they would float off and then we'd have to get up and round them up again. I got a bad headache every single time because of the heat--and we went at opening time too--and by 1:00 I was miserable and ready to leave and had the dang headache the rest of the day. If I had known it was going to be like that I wouldn't have done it. There isn't enough shade and it's really for 3+ year olds. At least! The only thing I can say that was 15 seconds of fun was the Crocodile Isle slide in the toddler area. My dd loved it but a 5 minute wait holding her in the heat for 15 seconds of fun? Just not worth it. Too bad we bought season tickets before trying it out. I went once a week (FORCED myself to) to make it worth it, but really it was miserable and exhausting! If you buy a ticket to try it out and decide you want a season pass they will put the money you paid for the one ticket toward your season pass. I didn't know that at first! Wish I would have known! A baby pool and sprinkler in your back yard is waaay better! OH--and I just bought my 2 1/2 yr old the Little Tikes Anchors Away Pirate ship play water table and she LOVES it! That, a baby pool, sprinkler, & lots of toys in the back yard--now that is summer heaven! =)

Here is a great alternative option my daughter and I loved when she was little! This is only a toddler water park. It is part of a church but is opened to the public. It was worth the drive once and a while for us. http://www.fmhouston.com/SportsRecreation/NoahsArkPoolInf...
