I need something that's going to disinfect and make it shine. How do you clean your stainless steel sinks? What products do you use?

I love Bar keepers friend products. They work for a lot of things, especially stainless steel.

after you dry ur cleaned sink, put lemon oil for furniture on a paper towel or rag and wipe over sink. will keep dry spots from forming.

barkeepers friend...it is a powder similar to Comet. It is old school but works great on my stainless steel sink which I know is difficult to keep shiny and clean, be sure to wear gloves. Seriously I don't use anything else after someone suggested this to me.

Go to FlyLady .com and check out her technique for shining your sink. I do it about once per year and my sink is gleaming! I also am sure to wipe out my sink every time I use it. If need be I just scrub the sink with my dish soap or an SOS, but I rarely need to do that.

Good luck!

For stainless steel to shine, it needs to not be scratched up. So you use a nonabrasive cleaner. Bon Ami is the best (and oldschool). It DOES require rinsing. Your scrub it on (in circles), rinse it off, and buff it dry to a high shine.

Alternatively, you can use a spray cleaner (like clorox). It won't shine the way Bon Ami does, but it will be clean.

I used to work for a maid service, so this was something that we had to do for a living. All we ever did was use a chemical that disinfected the sink, then take a white cloth (cloth diapers work best), and rub the steel. It shines like a charm. I have done this to our faucet heads and my family asks where they can get the polish. I tell them to find it in the baby section and everyone looks at me like I am crazy until they try it. It turns it into a mirror...hope this helps.
