I had my daughter 6 weeks ago and I have had stomach pain that some times is severe, sharp pains in my vagina, and bad cramping pain in my pelvic area. Now when I just went to the bathroom (#2) the water had blood in it and there was like a spot at the bottom of the toilet of blood about a quarter sized(i dont know if it was one clump of blood or a bunch that accumulated at the bottom) and there was blood on my toilet paper when i wiped! I have been fighting hemorrhoids since having my daughter but never this much bleeding. My 6 week check up is thursday!!!!

What can I do next?

Call your doctor just to put your mind at ease. I had the same thing. I was given pitocin because my labor wasn't progressing. I dilated from 2 to 10 centimeters in 1 hour. After birth I felt like someone ripped my inside out for weeks. I was very very sore. It could be normal, but put your mind at ease and call the doc. Congratulations on your daughter!!

I would call ur ob/gyn and even speak w/the nurse - if you are that close to your check up they may have you come right in. Good luck!

Why wait?
Some women have a lot of discomfort after having a baby and it's normal. It could be something else.
I work at a hospital doing the birth certificates. I've actually had moms call me about pain or breastfeeding issues and I let the nurses who delivered them know. They follow up and get them in to be seen with the OB/GYN or lactation consultant or whatever they need sooner.
Call the hospital where you had your baby. The nurses are there 24/7.

Congratulations on your baby and I hope you'll be feeling better soon.
I just wouldn't wait and worry if I were you.

Best wishes.

If your breastfeeding its normal. Also your body is going to take time to heal and your gonna feel alot of acks and pains for at least 6 month your body is not normal after a baby plus most moms look ok but really aren't so don't be discourage if you know someone who bounced back right away they maybe just having a good day. lots of rest eating and water with relaxing with baby for the next month or as long as you can will help. Put your feet up when you can and also if you had a epideryl you can have some back pain for a couple weeks. Oh ya if you go to the bathroom and you have golf ball clots come out or larger than call your ob.

The after pains can be painful, everything is trying to go back where it was before it was interrupted by all the pressures of pregnancy. If you feel its something worse than that, make an appointment, otherwise it sounds like it's almost time for you to go in anyway, just let the doc know whats going on when you get there.

If its really severe I would go in, just for peace of mind. It is normal for your body to do that as its shrinking back to its normal sizes, so you're probably just fine. However if there is something wrong, say a piece of the placenta still inside or some type of bleeding, its best to deal with it sooner rather then later.

Best wishes!

Chances are it maybe nothing. I would call the nurse at your midwife/or OGBYN's office in the morning. Just to make sure. I can remember with all mine each recovery was different. I recall having one that sounded similar to yours. I just couldnt tell you which one now.

Do not wait. Go to the doctor. You may have an infection.
