LOL. I buy the $15 ones at Target. I ALWAYS lose them, so there's no way I'm spending a bunch on an expensive brand. :)
Hi! I've lost my sunglasses. I need to get new ones quick but don't want to overspend. Has anyone compared prices? Are prices at Sunglass Hut in the mall (the most convenient, I think) comparable to elsewhere? Does any store have really good deals?

I'm sort of (okay VERY) picky about things like that, so I buy the nicer brands. If you buy a good brand and get polarized ones (it is SO worth spending extra to get polarized), the prices are actually pretty comparable at most places. If you wanted, you could get RedLaser or another similar app on your phone, then just scan the bar code and it will tell you prices for all other places you could buy that item (locally and online).
Costco usually has sunglasses for about $60.00.
Sunglass Hut is VERY expensive. My husband got a pair there for 200 dollars. He is very careful with this stuff and his last pair he had for 10 years. Me on the other hand, if I spent that much I would have a heart attack if I lost or scratched them. So I go to TJ Maxx or Marshalls where they have designer glasses for a huge discount. I just got a pair for 8 dollars down from 36.
Depends on what kind of sunglasses you are looking for. Sunglass hut starts around $30 I think, for "cheap" ones... and keeps on going up and up and up. I try to only buy polarized (and that is all my husband likes, too), so finding a pair we like usually runs us a minimum of $40 to start. His last ones were $80 I think, from Sunglass Hut. They are a name brand, but I don't remember which one.
I don't usually buy off the rack ones for me, since I wear glasses and need prescription ones. I HAVE a pair for the rare occasions I put in contact lenses.
Walmart has some if you go to one that does eyeglasses. Some are not too bad, but there isn't a HUGE selection.... so it depends upon how picky you want to be.
oh.. and husband has had the same pair now for about 4 years. The first time he has actually managed not to break a pair for so long! :)) I think they are "Bolle" or something like that.
Do you spend a lot on yours?
I would think department stores would be discounting them at this time of year.
Me? I like to know that if inlosenor crunch a pair, I'm not out more than 10 bucks! Lol it happens a lot!
I've been known to scoop up multiple cheapies ANYWHERE I see a good deal!

We choose quality vs cheap and in turn we've bought our glasses from Sunglass Hut for years. It's not like you buy them yearly unless you just lose or misplace them.
Buy good glasses and keep up with them
If you are into cheapees... Go to places like Big Lots, etc and get a decent pair
SunglassWarehouse.com.
we get ours at the Harley store. I forget the name of them, but they are cheap, usually set up at the counter.
I just got a sturdy pair from Target for $13. They said "100% uv protection" on the lenses. I also bought a stylish pair at Kohl's to leave in my car, so I'll look cool when I drive. About $20 and they feel much flimsier than the basic blacks from Target.
In seattle at our Macy's store there is a sunglass hut in Macy's. there for you are allowed to use your Macy's 20percent off coupon. :)
I lose probably 6-8 pairs of cheap (ranging from $10-25) sunglasses every summer, or break them. But, this summer I mistakenly thought that the Coach sunglasses sold at Costco were $30, so I bought a pair. A few weeks later I actually looked at my receipt and saw that they were actually $70, but decided to keep them. You know what? They are the sturdiest sunglasses I have ever had, and somehow, I have not misplaced them even once. They come with their own hard-sided case & lens cloth, which helps to keep them nice, and most importantly, found ;-)
i actually don't usually lose sunglasses. but i spend target/walmart/wherever cheaper prices, and they usually last me a season or so. i've never found a pair i was so in love with i wanted to keep any longer than that, fashions/styles change so fast anyway. if i don't spend a lot i don't have to worry about them getting stepped on, dropped, sat on, etc. one less load off my mind! lol!
