Lumps? The outer lips sound like maybe enlarged lymph nodes, inner could be a clogged Bartholin's gland.
So I am in my 28th week with my second child, and I noticed some large swelling in my groin area last night. It's a little inward from panty line, and migrates upward. It's on my right side, which I have had some pain from during this pregnancy. My doctor previously said the pain is due to ligament stress, but now this swelling has me worried! I noticed 3 pea size lumps--two on the outer lip, and one on the inner. I have called my doctor and am waiting for her to reply. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?? I'm thinking possibly varicose vein, but not sure with the lumps.
Well just returned from the doctor--it was swollen blood vessels do to poor blood flow. I get to wear these sexy compression hose now. :( Also was instructed to stay off my feet as much as possible to prevent more swelling. I don't know how I will achieve that seeing that I have a 14 month old crazy boy I have to chase around! Thanks for all the input!

Varicose veins usually make their appearance lower down on your leg, but I wouldn't rule it out. Maybe a blood clot? I don't know how thin you are... If it hurts or is in anyway uncomfortable, get it checked. Try putting your feet up and using hot (or cold) compresses. If something's just swollen, cold will help. If it's a tight muscle, the heat may help. Feel better! OH, and keep in mind, you have lymph nodes in your inner thigh, they may be swollen due to your hormones ;)
Yep, sounds like veins to me. I had many and a lot of swelling "down there" during both of my pregs. I carried my kids really low.
With my first, I was SO swollen down there that it actually made sex painful. No fun.
Not to scare you, but good thing a call is in to your doctor. It could be the beginning of a blood clot.
I am not typically a nervous nelly like this, but a friend recently dealt with this in her pregnancy.
Definitely sounds like veins. I'm 24 weeks pregnant. Need I say more?
Probably just what you think, varicose veins. And the swelling is probably due to the excess blood flow to the area. It's good that you called your doctor, she'll know best if it's anything to worry about, and be able to give you advice on how best to relieve any discomfort. In the meantime, you could try Tucks pads, they are just witch hazel, and it can't hurt.
