I am going to a shower this weekend and purchased a gift for the parents-to-be. When I was perusing the gift-wrap section, I saw reusable totes and decided to give one a try as the 'gift bag wrapping'. It was cheaper than a paper gift bag and can be used again in a variety of ways. I think the bag is cute - brown with multi-color dots which I will accent with tissue paper for 'pops' of color - but is this a tacky or appropriate way to present a gift? Not a life crisis that needs help, but just curious to hear what others have to think. Oh and trust me - I know I'm not the first one to come up with this idea; just wondered what people thought about it.
What a great idea! I never thought of that before, but I will definitely be doing the same thing in the future. The one you chose does sounds cute and the tissue paper will make it a more "appropriate" gift presentation. So don't worry, I'm sure the parents-to-be will love it.
It's a great idea. It's so much better than a paper $5 bag that rips when you are opening the gift and then can't even be reused. THanks for the good idea!
I think it is a great idea. I do the same thing for kids gifts when i can. We all use those gift bags as carry alls now and then so this would make it last longer.

I don't think it is tacky at all. As a mom I can never have enough totes/bags to carry all of our stuff. Especially in this "green" time I think it would be appreciated.
