After our babies, I did special exercises that really targeted my core - it's like zippering up a zipper (if you think of a pair of pants) that helped a lot. Those and pelvic tilt type exercises, and losing any belly fat through aerobic exercise. Just up your walking length and endurance. Eat afterwards and more than a snack.
Up your core strength training (buy a ball if you don't have one and google exercises).
If that doesn't cut it, the only way to rid that pouch is surgery. Most people don't have to go that drastic unless pregnancy caused real damage to the underlying muscle. Usually strengthening your core muscles will result in a noticeable difference. The key is locating those and working them.
Your physician or PT can help you locate them if you find it hard to find them. It's a very small movement (to clench them). It's not like doing a regular sit up.
Good luck :) I agree - an exercise buddy is really motivating!
