Hey all! I just had a question....I've been on the mini-pill for about 6 months now and I decided to stop using it for various reasons...and I was just wondering if anyone had their period stop after getting off it. While on it, I was very regular, but I stopped taking it almost 6 weeks ago and still have not had my period. And no, it's not possible I'm pregnant. SO. Just wondering if anyone had a similar experiance, or if y'all have advice. Thanks!

I have always had a very irregular cycle, I ahve gone 3+ months wiht no period and no pregnancy. IN my case it is because of polycyctic ovarian syndrome, a hormonal disorder. It may be that you have some kind of hormonal imbalance. Or if your are breastfeeding it may be that you are not having periods because of that. Ask your doctor for help figuring out what the problem is.

Are you nursing? I was on the mini pill a few weeks ago and I am nursing. I spotted a little, then nothing, no period. I stopped taking it though because of my mood swings:) Now I have mirena, its great, and still no period because I am breastfeeding.

If its not that maybe your body is just adjusting to the hormone changes/losses.

Same thing happened to me and I thought there was no way I was pregnant, I was still breastfeeding. Lo and behold, after 2 months of feeling weak and tired, I took a test and was pregnant. It was Gods will though and now we couldn't be happier with the space of our kids.

I work in womens health, so I am pretty firmiliar with the subject. Hope this helps! You should not be getting a period regularly when you are on the minipill. The reason is beacuse every pill is active, there are no placebos on the last week. Irregular bleeing is a normal side effect, but not regular monthly periods. It will probably take a few months for your cycles to return, unless you are nursing then they may not return until you stop.
